In the movies and TV shows you always see the kids sitting around the table while the parent is around either cooking dinner or focusing on a piece of homework. This is how it should be, so that you are present, caring, and interested in their education. Of course, they’re not always going to need help and that’s okay, but be there when they do need it.

Ask Them About What They Are Learning

The final thing that we’re going to say is that you should be asking them about what they are learning. If they don’t really need your help with their homework, you should at least take an interest in what they are being taught. Perhaps you can ask them what they learned at school that day, or what their favourite thing that they learned over the last couple of days was. This keeps their memory fresh, and you get to hear all about the things that they are enjoying while they are at school.
