Collaborative Post

Sometimes, when you are a mum, you have so much to do and so little time to do it, that the thought of carving out an extra hour in your day to cook dinner seems impossible. The good news is there are plenty of fast and easy dishes that the whole family will enjoy, that won’t take you longer than 15mins to make. All you need to do is keep reading to find out what they are.

Spaghetti and hot dogs

A huge favourite for kids everywhere is pasta with hot dogs cooked and cut up through it, topped with a yummy tomato sauce. You can even make things easier for yourself by choosing to shop for the ingredients you need in a grocery store online. Then you won’t have to drag the whole family to the supermarket and spend hours traipsing around the aisle to make sure you have got the right items.

The great thing about this recipe is that you can make sure they is plenty of veg in the sauce if you make it yourself. It couldn’t be easier to do so either, as all you need to do is cook up a pan of veggies including diced tomatoes, chopped carrots, chopped red peppers, and sliced onions. The carrots in particular will add some delicious sweetness while still making sure your kids get access to all those good nutrients.

If you have some time but are low on effort, you can always just roast all the veg in the oven and then blitz them together when cooked to form the sauce.

Fajitas

Quick, easy, and a lot of fun, fajitas are the perfect option when you are looking to feed a family fast. These Mexican-style wraps only need a few preparation steps before they are ready as well.

First of all, cook your chosen protein so is done all the way through, and slightly browned n the outside. Then remove it from the pan, and add red and yellow peppers and some brown onion. Once the vegetables are cooked, return the protein to the pan and add fajita seasoning, let this cookout, and then serve inside warm wraps, along with salsa and just a dash of sour cream.

Stir fry

Last of all, we have the classic stir fry, which is fast easy, and delicious. Indeed, if you want to save even more time, and make things easy on yourself you can get stir fry vegetable kits where all the ingredients come prechopped all you need to do is open the pack and pour it in. Some supermarkets even offer 3 for 2 deals that include a stir fry sauce and a protein or some cooked noodles too, literally making it super simple to create a healthy meal in minutes.

Of course, if you prefer you can choose and chop your own ingredients for your stir fry. Great options include bok choi, and spring onions, which work just as well with meats like chicken and pork as they do with tofu. For extra flavour use, just a dash of sesame oil to fry your ingredients, and your family will soon be asking for seconds.
