Meal Planning Sunday

Another meal planning Sunday another new week ahead of us and after doing our meal plan for the week this morning, hubby and Olly have done the food shop to make sure we have all the key ingredients in the fridge for all our meals this week. Breakfast and lunches will be eaten at work whilst we’ll all eat together of an evening around the dining table.

We had a pretty good week last week and stayed on plan with what we had said we were going to eat. I completely forgot to get the beef out of the freezer on Thursday night for our slow cooker meal for the following day so we ended up having beef bourgignon again on Friday evening after it had defrosted but we didn’t have any red wine so I used rosé wine! Not ideal as it’s not as rich as but it was okay to eat.

Last week was all about settling back into the work routine. Hubby has a new job so he was finding his feet and getting himself organised. For me, I was just hoping to get through the week, going to bed earlier and surviving the week after having my broken tooth out at the dentist.

We’ve got a quiet week ahead of us this week with the usual darts, squash and Slimming World of an evening and I’m hoping to get to the new leisure centre for a spot of AquaFit with my friend. I had a brilliant week on the scales last week, which you can read about here and so I’m inspired to keep on with planning my meals.

Week two / 2016

  • Roast Chicken, vegetables and boiled potatoes
  • Chicken Chow Mein
  • Diet Coke Chicken and savoury rice
  • Chilli burgers (recipe in the January 2016 SW magazine)
  • SW KFC chicken and chips
  • Mixed Grill Up (a SW friendly alternative to the traditional fry up)

So there’s our meal plan, we do eat a lot of chicken but it’s a family favourite and it’s really versatile. What are you eating this week? I’ll be linking up with Mrs M’s Meal Planning Monday tomorrow where you can find lots more meal planning inspiration and ideas.
