While it’s true that the whole world is used to working in an office for some jobs, there is a surprising number of careers that you can do completely without ever leaving your home. They’re not for everyone, that’s for sure, but if you can keep your discipline and be persistent, they can be an excellent source of income.

A thing to note is that while it’s easiest to find a job if you’re writing in English, having command of a language that isn’t that common might pay better due to the lack of competition. Of course, your language skills need to be perfect, so keep that in mind.

A skill that’s constantly in demand in today’s online landscape, digital marketing can be a great way to make quite a decent income. It’s a set of skills that requires you to know things like Google Ads, search engine optimization, and social media, but the more you know, the more you can offer to your clients (and make more money).

If you aren’t well versed, you could start with the basics of SEO – this will show you how search engines work, what you can do to make a website rank better, and how to optimize existing content. Then, switch to Google Ads, and wrap things up with social media. This is a killer combination that clients will love because you can take their website, along with their social media profiles, and improve rankings and stats across the board.

What you should keep in mind, however, is that some clients might offer a success-based payment. This means that you’ll only get paid if they see results, and this is something you should only accept if you’re completely confident that what you’re doing is going to bring those results. Otherwise, being paid by the hour is a much better (and safer) option.

Development

If you’ve ever researched any online career, you’ve definitely heard people saying that development is difficult, not everyone can learn it and it’s something that requires a degree. Well, that’s not really the case, and you’d be surprised at how many people don’t have a degree or any particular engineering experience, and they’re working as developers. It’s all about the mindset.

Development is one of those careers that you can completely educate yourself on with (free and paid) online courses that start at the absolute beginning, and then evolve into more complex skills that bring you more money. All it takes is for you to be patient and take things one step at a time.

 

Ideally, while you’re still learning, you’ll have a few real-world projects to work on. Make sure you do as well as possible on them, and then add them to your portfolio, so you can send them to prospective clients. This way, they can see what you’re capable of and they’ll know you’re not just strong on words.

Sure, you might not be making too much when you’re starting off, but be persistent and you’ll be hitting that triple-digit salary in no time.

This is arguably the go-to online career for people who are just getting started with the world of online, work from home jobs. Data entry will have you researching the internet for various information that your clients need, and then putting all of that in a neat, presentable way where they have quick access to said information.

While you can start working as a data entry specialist with zero prior experience, it’s nice if you’re good with thorough research – it’ll go a long way towards making your job easier, and you’ll be able to work more quickly and efficiently. Then, it’s all about landing the right client who pays well, and you’re set!
