For years, I couldn’t wait to start joining in with the Siblings posts. In January 2018 we finally got the chance to join in. It was such an incredible month for our family. Our little Freddie was born and he slotted right into our family and bought so much joy to our lives. One person in particular who has hugely from an extra family member is our eldest, Olly. Being a big brother has really transformed his confidence and to see him with his little brother is just adorable.
I know it won’t last forever but it seems as though my boys are getting on really well right now. They have always had a lovely relationship. They adore each other. As Freddie gets a little bit older each month, the more his personality and character come to life and we can communicate with him. Olly is always asking after Freddie making sure he is ok and that he has everything he needs. Freddie loves to boss Olly around with his demands and thankfully Olly doesn’t mind at all.

Bedtime battles
The boys currently share a bedroom which is causing a few issues at bedtime. Mainly because Freddie keeps Olly awake. Freddie is still napping throughout the day and come bedtime, there have been occasions where Freddie is much more awake than his older brother and is full of beans. Olly just wants to read in bed and relax so he can fall asleep. Freddie is still in his cotbed and I’m keen to keep him there. I’m worried if we move him to his planned bunk bed he’ll be in and out every hour. We’re going to give them a few more months before we tackle the bedroom. However I am desperate to get their new room sorted and organised.

Of course as with most siblings, they do argue. Sometimes when Olly is back from school, he just wants to switch off and play the Xbox or do some drawing. Freddie wants his attention and it can get a bit frustrating for Olly. Most of the time, they are the best of friends and I love watching them together.
Spotted in Mother & Baby Magazine
This month I have been interviewed for Mother and Baby Magazine and I’m talking about the age gap between my boys. In an ideal world we would have had our children closer together but life doesn’t work out that way. Our five year gap works for us.
