I have wanted to take part in this photography linky for so long. Having watched from the sidelines as friends shared their own siblings photographs each month, it’s now our turn to join in. This month, Olly was promoted to the role of big brother and his baby brother Freddie was born.
Becoming a big brother is something very new to Olly. We told him he was going to become a big brother back in July last year and the concept was pretty new to him. He’s been a happy only child but having a brother for him is a dream come true. From our own experiences, having a sibling is a wonderful thing. Someone to share life’s little adventures with, someone who will always have your back and someone who will always be your friend. We couldn’t wait to see Olly become a big brother and just one week ago, our family welcomed little Freddie to the world.
We’ve only been at home for a few days so haven’t been able to take many photographs yet. Olly is enjoying getting to know Freddie and has already started adding an additional story book to our bedtime routine as he gets his Daddy to read them both a story.
Olly’s taking his time to get to know Freddie, often referring to him as baby as he’s been calling him for the last six months. He’s being super helpful, fetching and carrying things for us and we were so pleased that he wanted to hold him for these photographs as it was completely unprompted. It was hard when we were in hospital for him to hold Freddie but in the comfort and safety of his own home, he couldn’t wait for a cuddle.
I can’t wait to see Olly and Freddie’s relationship bloom over the next few months, Freddie is already turning his head in Olly’s direction when he’s talking and we’re sure he’s bound to get the first smile out of him too.
There are going to be so many adventures for my Shilton boys over the next few years, I cannot wait to share them. I’m proud as punch of them both and cannot wait to see how their futures unfold.
