An Advertorial Feature

Imagine an app that you can have access to 24/7 which not only lets you track your daily calories but will give nutritional advice, ideas and personalised routines to improve your fitness and will offer psychological insight too. I’ve recently been introduced to Jonple and it’s really captured my interest.

Since we’ve all been in lockdown, my body confidence has plummeted. It goes hand in hand with how I feel about my weight. Over the last six to eight months, with the chaos of lockdown, looking after both my children during the day and working when they’re in bed, I haven’t been prioritising myself. This has led to weight gain which I can see and feel. I stopped going to Slimming World meetings as they moved to online sessions which didn’t work for me and without accountability, I’ve really took my eye off the ball. I’ve been skipping meals (unintentionally), staying up late to get work completed and really not looking after myself as much as I should.

The Smarter Way to Live Healthy

I’ve recently been introduced to the Jonple app which is said to be ‘The smarter way to live healthy’. The app is a complete fitness and nutrition app which can help you achieve your goals. It’s a holistic approach to looking after your body; with nutrition, fitness and mental health. If you want to track your nutrition to eat more healthily, the app is a great place to start. If you’d like to work on upping your fitness levels, Jonple can help with a personalised fitness plan and if you want support and advice there’s useful videos to watch that give suggestions for things you might want to try out.

Why Jonple?

Jonple allows you to track your daily food and drink intake and also offers a unique nutrition and fitness program that is shaped to user needs using validated scientific calculations. Jonple take a look at the science and psychology behind the nutrition and fitness to help design a program that will work for the user.

Looking at Nutrition

Every day users are encouraged to complete the nutrition log. This will record what meals and snacks were eaten and nutritional information will be collated and identified to form a nutritional log including carbs, fats and proteins.

When you begin the sign up process you can enter your height and weight and whether your goals are weightloss related, fitness related or for a healthy mindset. Depending on your focus, the app will suggest a ceiling of calories that should be consumed during the day that are ideal for your focus, i.e weightloss. This can help inform the user to the number of calories in a meal or snack and potentially curb the snacking or over eating. The calorie counted meal plan is a great feature as it takes out a lot of the guess work. The meal plan has been personalised by a nutritionist so I know I’ve got support from the people who know best. None of the meals are supplements as it’s a food-first approach and I think that’s essential to sticking with the plan long term.

One of the features of the app that I really like are all the recipes that are available. There’s lots of meal ideas to select from and these meal ideas include video recipes with full instructions on how to make the meal. It’s really helpful and a great way of choosing something to eat that is within your calories. It’s also really helpful when you just don’t know what to eat.

Looking at Fitness

Getting fit and healthy goes hand in hand with eating well. If you eat right, you’ll no doubt have more energy to want to do some exercise. If you’re unsure of what exercises to do to help with your fitness then the Jonple app is brilliant. Jonple want you to succeed so they’re there to help. They give you a full workout plan tailored to you and your ability with workouts you can complete at home (without expensive kit or equipment). There’s a whole range of routines and exercises that you can do whether you want to help with weightloss, tone up or just move more.

I’ll be spending some time each week completing the fitness tasks as I need that accountability, I need to be able to see that I am doing something to make a difference. After all, if you change nothing, nothing changes. I know they’re not going to be easy but that’s the point, nothing worth having is easy. As time ticks on, it will get easier and I’m actually really looking forward to it.
