I’m really enjoying getting organised with the Meal Planning Monday post every weekend. This week, we did the meal plan before my husband went out to a new local Aldi to have a look around and get the food shopping in. As with every week, we look in the cupboards to see what we have in and what else we may need to make a decent meal. Luckily, despite it being the longest January on record, we only needed fresh ingredients such as meat, vegetables and fruit as we had plenty of other food bits in.

What’s on the meal plan this week

This week we are having some of our favourite meals that are relatively cheap to put together. We’ll be using some frozen meats up from the freezer stash and attempting to reduce our food waste again by using up all the vegetables in our meals and soups. I am loving having soups for lunch at the moment, my soup maker is so quick and easy to use!

  • Jacket Potatoes with Salad
  • Fakeaway – Nando’s Lemon and Herb Chicken with Actifry chips and peas
  • SW Chilli Con Carne with rice
  • Sausage and Mash and gravy
  • Slimming World Beef Burgers for me / Steak Burgers for the males, all served with salad and pickles

Lunches

  • Leek and Potato Soup (made in the soup maker)
  • Scotch Broth soup
  • Pasta’N’Sauce – Freddie is loving the Chicken and Bacon one
  • Vegetable Str Fry and Egg Noodles (I won the raffle in my SW group this week and the prize was a Chinese New Year inspired meal)

Slimming World Week 3 progress

Three weeks on and I’m feeling really good. I wish I could bottle this enthusiasm I have for staying on plan as I feel in control, happy with my meal choices and ultimately really pleased with progress so far. I weighed in early on Saturday morning and had lost 2.5lb so in total, I have lost 12lb so far. Just 2lb off my first stone. The first of many I want to lose.

I’m hoping I’ll be able to have another good week on plan and bag that first stone certificate from group next Saturday morning.

Over the last week, I have been a little ill and struggled to drink plenty of water but I know this all helps with the weight loss. I will continue to drink at least 2 bottles of water every day and to write my daily intake of food into the SW planner app on my phone. It really helps me to see what I’ve eaten, how many syns I have left and lets me plan out the day. It’s working for now so fingers crossed it can continue.

If you’re looking for some meals to enjoy whilst doing Slimming World, I have plenty of meal ideas here.
