When I heard that the Slimming World Greatest Loser awards were being held in groups this week, I was a little bit excited. The Greatest Loser awards celebrate those members who have lost the most amount of weight since starting their SW journey and having lost over five stone since August 2014, I had hoped that I might be in with a chance. I was selected as our groups Greatest Loser in 2015 and was excited to find out if I could bag the title once again this year.
I was delighted to be told that I had won our groups award. It really means such a lot to have my achievements recognised and be able to share my journey with likeminded friends and followers.
I was asked to speak in group and was also asked to bring in some photographs showing what I looked like back in 2014. When I see those photographs I feel a little sad that I let myself get that bad but so glad I made the decision to change my life around and do something positive about my diet.
You can read more about my journey on SW here.
After a very busy and quite a stressful week with my lovely Mom in hospital and a couple of Mother’s Day treats, I gained 2lb on the scales. That was completely expected and I’m comfortable with it. I’m one of those people who eat when they get stressed (oh how I wish I didn’t) this is my coping mechanism. Looking back I used to turn to food for comfort all the time, it’s no wonder I was huge. However 2lb on is something I can manage and I’m pretty positive that I can get that off this week and more.
I’ve been faffing around in the same stone bracket for ages now and need to really up my game if I want to see the next stone bracket any time soon. As some lovely readers will know, my hubby has started following the SW plan and to date has lost over 10lb (in just two weeks, wow!) so I need to take a leaf out of his book and start a fresh with writing everything down, counting syns accurately and upping my speed foods with every meal.
I don’t think it matters how long I’ve been following the plan. I still make mistakes and need a reminder every now and then and importantly, I shouldn’t compare the middle of my journey to anyone’s beginning.
So on a high from getting the award, I’m on track and ready to smash it this week!
