*I was invited to attend a complimentary Pamper Spa Day with my Mom
in exchange for an honest review*

Last week my Mom and I were invited to Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield for a Pamper Spa Day. It was a day out from our usual Monday routines and we both couldn’t wait to just stop and take some time for ourselves. Moor Hall has a colourful history and dates back to 1527. My Mom was particularly fascinated to learn that Henry VIII is said to have been a frequent visitor back in the day so of course, if it was good enough for royalty it would be good enough for us.

Our Pamper Spa Day included breakfast on arrival, use of robes throughout the day, a 55 minute Thalgo treatment each, lunch and use of the Spa facilities. I have been to Moor Hall Hotel on several occasions; including a celebratory afternoon tea and the bloggers Festive Afternoon Tea last year, so I already knew how beautiful the hotel was and the high level of service we could expect on our Spa Day.

Easy like Monday morning

As soon as we arrived, we were taken to the gallery to enjoy our breakfast. We were served our choice of hot drink with toast and preserves. It was a cold, wet and miserable morning outside but inside the hotel was a cheery, warm and friendly atmosphere. A great way to start a Monday.

After our breakfast, we completed our consultation forms, pre-ordered our lunch and had a tour around the spa and facilities. I was really keen to spend some time in the relaxation room and my Mom couldn’t wait to get into the Spa Bath in the pool area, which is where we headed for first.

The hotel pool, Spa Bath, Sauna and Steam room are all available for other hotel guests to use too which is pretty common in my experience. The poolside was busy with guests but we managed to get a couple of relaxation chairs and took up residence for an hour relaxing, catching up and planning the rest of our day. We didn’t want to dip into the pool straight away as we had mid-morning treatments booked and we had read that we couldn’t go into the treatment rooms in our wet swimwear.

The most wonderful relaxation room

We headed up to the relaxation room which was a wonderful space. It’s exclusively for spa guests only and we found ourselves to be the only ones in the room. The room was full of comfortable lounging chairs, blankets and soft lighting, a really relaxing space to snooze or read a book away from the hustle and bustle of the poolside.

What a treat!

As part of the Pamper Spa Day package, we were entitled to a 55 minute treatment each. These included either a Heart of Ocean Ritual Facial or a Body Wrap. I opted for a facial and my Mom chose the Body Wrap treatment.

My facial was with Grace who invited me to relax on the treatment table which was cosy with heated blankets. I’m not particularly keen on anyone touching my body hence why I wouldn’t have chosen the full body wrap treatment, but I don’t mind someone pampering my face so I tried to relax and enjoy the treat.

After my 55 minute pampering session, I was feeling very relaxed and my face was glowing. Grace was the perfect therapist. She was friendly, put me at ease and ensured I really enjoyed the treatment. I could have easily fallen asleep on the treatment table it was that relaxing. The Spa uses Thalgo products which I’m not familiar with but have had no issues with during or following the treatment.

My Mom reported that her body wrap was wonderful. She asked the therapist to leave out the mud wrap but she received a really relaxing massage which Mom said really helped alleviate some aches and pains she had in her shoulder.

Delicious food

We had pre-ordered our lunch earlier in the day which is served in the Gallery above the bar area of the hotel. I went to lunch in my swimwear, robe and flip flops but my Mom felt uncomfortable walking through the bar area in her swimwear and robe in one of the main areas of the hotel. I can see why it would be uncomfortable as there were quite a lot of hotel guests sitting in the bar area.

As Spa guests you can order a range of meals from the menu including light lunches, burgers and chips or a choice of salads. Our lunch was delicious. We ordered a chicken and bacon salad which was just what we both fancied. Drinks were charged additionally and payable at the end of the Spa day.

We spent the rest of our spa day in the pool. We had been pre-warned that there was a scheduled fitness class on in the pool in the afternoon so we made the most of a quiet pool before it got busy. We were concerned the small changing room would get overcrowded after the class so used the showers whilst the class was in full swing.

Thoroughly enjoyable day

We both left Moor Hall Hotel and Spa feeling refreshed and happy. It was really nice to spend some quality time with my Mom and have a rare but enjoyable pamper. We would most certainly return to Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in the future and next time bring along my Sister and our friends for a relaxed break and pamper.
