At the end of Whitsun week last month, we had the pleasure of returning to one of our favourite hotels in Warwickshire, Chesford Grange. We had been invited back to find out about what they had on offer for families during the school holidays as since our last visit back in 2016, Olly, our four year old has started pre-school and is now the perfect age to try out some of the activities.
Chesford Grange is one of eight family friendly hotels in the QHotels chain that go that little bit further to make sure families staying with them have a memorable break away from home. Whenever we go away with Olly, we want to know he’s going to enjoy himself too. We really appreciate going to hotels where children are expected to be seen and heard because that’s what family breaks are all about. A child laughing and enjoying themselves indicates that they’re having a good time and lets face it, if a child is having a good time then the parents are going to be too.
On arrival at the hotel, we checked in and Olly was given his Quackers cup. All children checking in at the hotel get given a cup and can ask for free squash at the bar which is refillable whenever your child needs it. We found a table in the reception area dedicated to the family breaks offer with details of all the activities on offer over the school holidays. There was a timetable with daily activities and information about what was on.
Planned Activities for Children
The timetable includes planned activities designed to give children some freedom to enjoy themselves. There’s a dedicated splash time with an hour of fun in the morning and again in the afternoon where there’s music and floats in the pool. Children can go swimming at other times of the day too.
