Me and Mine Project // September 2020

Better late than never eh? September was quite a stressful month for us with back to school worries, university studies and the general chaos of everyday family life. We tried to make the most of the weekends as our borough is under local lockdown so we had various days out to break the overwhelming frustrations that we can’t socialise with our families and enjoy time with our friends.

What we enjoyed in September

M U M M Y

• has opened an Etsy shop selling handmade gifts which are pretty and practical. I’ll write about it in another post but I wanted to do something more creatively with my time at home. I can’t write with a toddler around, it is simply impossible however, I can work around Freddie’s needs doing other hands on things. It’s going well so far and there is so much more to share.
• has found September quite stressful. Covid has a lot to answer for in terms of lack of work for bloggers and creators and I have really struggled with this. Hence why I’ve opened up my own shop to try and bring some income in.
• has loved watching Netflix this month. It’s been a great way to zone out of normal everyday Mum life of an evening whilst Shilts worked on his university studies.
• loved the day trip out to Llandudno with the boys. We had a wonderful impromptu afternoon on the beach and it was so nice to sit and watch the boys play in the sand.
• has enjoyed researching our family history this month. It is fascinating to discover all about our ancestors.

D A D D Y

• worked tirelessly to complete his University Masters dissertation. It was a hefty piece of work and there were many late nights but we are very proud of him for completing it whilst working full-time and with a family to support.
• was pleased the football season had started again.
• really enjoyed sitting on the beach in Wales in the sunshine
• welcomed a new batch of trainee teachers to his uni cohort; he’s training them to complete their PGCE’s and become secondary school teachers within the West Midlands.
• enjoyed an afternoon out in Bridgnorth walking around the town on the Bridgnorth Art Trail. There are 9 hand decorated trains around the town and the boys loved hunting them down.

O L L Y

• has started Year 3 and despite a tough first couple of weeks, is really enjoying being back at school. His routine is different at school and he’s in his little bubble with his Year 3 group but he’s adapting well so far.
• loved playing roly poly down the sand dunes in Llandudno, and managed to bring half a beach home with him in his short pockets.
• is enjoying learning to play the Ukulele at school.
• enjoys watching Dan TDM and SB737 on YouTube, learning Minecraft tricks and hacks.
• shared the back to school germs and caught a cold. Then gave his cold to Mummy and Freddie, so kind.

F R E D D I E

• has enjoyed going back to his Grandparent’s house one day per week. Thankfully the local lockdown restrictions allowed children to see Grandparents for childcare reasons.
• has enjoyed running through streams and playing in the water on the beach in Llandudno.
• has really missed his big brother whilst he’s been back at school.
• loves a disco bath (a bubble bath plus glow sticks and music in the bathroom)
• loves watching Superwings, Fireman Sam and anything noisy!

October is a month with very little plans as our local lockdown and the wider national restrictions continue. I’m hoping blog work picks up and the Etsy shop ‘On the Nice List‘ continues to be successful. I’m working on lots of Christmas goodies and then thinking ahead to the new year with less seasonal products to make and share. It’s all very exciting and I wish I had more hours in the day!
