Living Arrows – Week 34

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” Khalil Gibran

Little Mr has thrived this Summer holiday. He’s really enjoyed days with his Daddy whilst I’ve been at work and has enjoyed days with both sets of Grandparents playing in their garden, harvesting cucumbers and enjoying their company.

It’s almost as if he’s grown up over the Summer holidays. His speech is really good, he amazes me with the sentences he comes out with and I have to remember when he has an almighty toddler tantrum that he is only two years old. He acts more mature on most occasions than his two and a half years but he’s still my baby who needs his do do (dummy) at night time and forgets to tell us when he’s done something in his nappy.

We spent the day together on Friday at Thomas Land, just the three of us. We had such fun and we let him choose what rides he wanted to go on and who he wanted to sit with. I’m so proud of my baby boy. I know he’s not a baby anymore but he’s growing up to be a cheeky, defiant young man with a heart of gold who tells me I look beautiful and will blow me a kiss (on most occasions)

He’s passed another milestone over the holidays too; he’s now sleeping in his converted toddler bed. The sides have come off and he’s sleeping in his bed with the bed guard on and is brilliant at bedtime, falling asleep within minutes with Little Ted by his side. He hasn’t mastered sleeping through the night consistently yet but it’s early days and practice makes perfect (or so I’m told!) He’s also practicing to sip his drink with no lid, he often gets completely soaked but he’s learning and I’m really proud, my little boy is growing up fast!

He’s got a week at his Grandparents this week before we head off camping for the bank holiday weekend with my side of our family. Another adventure awaits and I know he’ll just love it.
