Advertorial Feature
Luxury vinyl flooring is an option for homeowners looking to capitalise on low-cost benefits, whilst also having low areas of maintenance required in keeping it in pristine condition.

It may sound like an impossible task to get something cost-effective and highly durable – Something that layers anti-scratch, anti-stain, waterproof and moisture resistance safeguards all in one place, people tend to feel that having it all means paying for it all. With that in mind, vinyl flooring such as Amtico flooring only requires a few little touches of care to keep a longer life and healthier look.
Stains
When it comes to cleaning vinyl flooring, don’t expect to be on your hands and knees for long hours of the day. It is a product that does not require expensive chemicals to retain its fresh appeal. It is one of the easiest products to clean quickly available on the market.
When it comes to spillages such as juice or wine, simply sponging with warm soapy water or washing-up liquid tends to remove most stains with placement no more than 15 minutes.
Those harder-to-shift stains from sauces or ink-based liquids require cleaning where mixing warm water and bicarbonate soda to form a paste-like substance. Place this paste on the area and slowly rub until the stain is no longer visible and completely gone.
Mopping

Luxury vinyl flooring can prevent any leakage between tiles and boards due to being 100 percent waterproof. A simple household mop or sponge-based cleaning item is all that is required.
If you use a regular floor cleaning solution, you can apply vinegar or washing up liquid mixed with hot water to remove any deep stain that is tougher than most. Be sure to thoroughly drain the mop after each section, not drenching your floor with more water, which can truly test the adhesive holding down waterproof planks or tiles.
Your floor can receive damage from too much water and cause discolouration or warping, or bubbling up if the subfloor is soaked.
Scratches and Scuffs
Luxury vinyl flooring is an incredibly durable product that you do not have to worry about succumbing to the usual daily abuse.
However, in the event of deep scratches, individual tiles and planks can be replaced without having to pull up larger sections of the floor and it can be done with ease. Scratches in vinyl flooring can be repaired inexpensively with the use of sandpaper, car wax and dish detergent (containing no rubber extract within it). All dirt on the floor must be cleared before sanding down the vinyl so as not to damage the finish.
The use of dish detergent and water to clean away any dust from the sandpaper is advised, after which you can buff the floor with some non-rubber laced wax and a clean rag to give the floor a finish and have it look as good as new. The wear layer should also feel the same as other surrounding boards.
Always consult with your supplier on the best cleaning techniques and products for luxury vinyl flooring, such as dark grey vinyl flooring, to keep it looking at its best for upwards of 30 years.
