As a Mum to a young family, everyone getting enough sleep to function well the next day is pretty high up on my agenda. Sleep can solve a million and one problems but getting a good night’s sleep isn’t always guaranteed. You could have the squishiest pillows and the fluffiest duvet, but if your bed linen is irritating your skin all night, you’re not going to sleep well. Have you ever considered that the laundry products you’re using could be the reason why you aren’t getting a good night’s sleep? I’ve recently been introduced to Surcare laundry products and have had some of the best night’s sleep in a long time.
Introducing Surcare

Getting a good night’s sleep is essential to being able to rise and shine the next day. If your bed linen and pyjamas have been washed in a laundry product that irritates your sensitive skin, chances are you’re going to have a poor night’s sleep. Surcare is ideal for my family’s sensitive skin. It contains 0% fragrances, 0% enzymes, 0% acids, and 0% dyes. It’s got no hidden nasties and it’s a really good product for getting clothes clean and fresh. Surcare is proud to be one of only a handful of laundry products which have been awarded the Allergy UK Seal of Approval across the entire range.
A range of products to suit your lifestyle
Surcare has a range of different products available to use in the home. We have previously used liquid capsules so I was pleased Surcare had introduced the range in capsules too. Their product range includes Laundry Liquid, Liquid Capsules, Washing Powder, Fabric Softener and Washing up Liquid. All products are non-biological and are free from hidden chemicals and other nasties which could cause issues with sensitive skin.
How it has helped me
Over the summer, we swapped bedrooms with the boys to give them more space to play in. Since moving bedrooms, I’ve really struggled to sleep properly. I’m not sure what it is but I couldn’t sleep through the night without waking up, constantly turning over and trying to get myself comfortable again. With all the additional hand washing and sanitising we’re doing at the moment, my skin is really suffering. I have also suffer with dermatitis so have always been careful with the products I use for my bed linen, towels and clothing too. However over time, laundry brands can change the ingredients in their products and a product that has always been great for my skin could now be the irritant I need to eliminate.

Loving the Surcare Liquid Capsules
I’ve been washing our bed linen, clothes and towels in Surcare Liquid Capsules with a capful of Surcare Fabric Softener in every wash and have been really impressed with the results. There’s no odd smell, no deterioration of the garments and thankfully, I’ve found it’s left my bed linen and my blanket super soft. I’ve been sleeping with my blanket by my face at night and surprisingly it’s helped me drift off to sleep quicker. It’s just super comfortable and completely sleep inducing.

Sleep is good for productivity
I’ve found that when I’ve slept better throughout the night, the following day has been one of my most positive and productive days. I can shower, sort a load of washing out, make a packed lunch for Olly, done the washing up and popped a load in the washing machine all before we go off to school. Ticking off several jobs on my to-do list before 9am is hugely satisfying and I’m hoping it will continue. We’ve really missed this routine and sense of normality. so I’m keen for it to continue for the remainder of the year, if not beyond.

If you have allergies or suffer with sensitive skin and fancy seeing if Surcare can help you, it’s stocked in a wide range of local supermarkets including Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons stores.
