pizzapuff2

I came across the recipe to these pizza puff roll slices a few years back and they were a huge hit. Over time I’ve been able to make these up as I go along and as they’re so easy to make, I thought I’d share the recipe with you as they are so tasty (not diet friendly!) I made some over the weekend ready to be enjoyed throughout the week as lunchbox snacks.

Ingredients

1 packet of thawed ready roll puff pastry
1 jar of pasta sauce (or you could make your own!)
2 slices of ham
50g grated cheese
1 egg, beaten
Sprinkle of mixed herbs

pizza puff roll slices

Method

1) Pre-heat the oven to Gas Mark 6
2) Roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle (I kept the greaseproof paper on from the wrapping underneath)
3) Spread a layer of pasta sauce over the puff pastry rectangle
4) Sprinkle on the ham and cheese
5) Tightly roll the pastry rectangle, wrap it in greaseproof paper or cling film and pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes
6) Remove the wrapping
7) Cut the pastry roll into 12 slices and place on a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper
8) Beat the egg and give the pizza puff roll slices an light beaten egg wash
9) Sprinkle the slices with mixed herbs
10) Cook in the middle of the oven for around 12-14 minutes or until golden brown
11) Leave to cool and enjoy

They keep for a couple or three days in a airtight container but be warned, they won’t last longer as they’re so tasty!
