The uninstallation of old meters and implementation of new smart meters means that both old and new homes will provide a stable workload for many years, meaning you can call your own amount of clients you want to fit in within a week to best negotiate that work life balance. 

Youth and Experience

There is no age limit on when you can change direction in your life and indeed both youth and age can benefit each other in the change.

Having a more mature mindset will help in understanding the workload ahead and the need for change, whilst youth can give a lot of energy and ambition into the role. With an aging workforce and a fall in migration, the trades are seeing their worst figures in nearly 20 years, which creates a huge opportunity for anyone willing to dedicate their time to a career in trades and especially those undertaking a green energy apprenticeships.

Money Talks

There are many ways to earn a wage and you should never do anything just for the money. However, qualified engineers have found an average salary of £30k plus a year quite the earner.

Depending on your region, you stand to earn quite a pretty sum for all that hard work in training. Being able to set your own prices when qualified and building it up means the sky could be the limit when it comes to earning potential, especially if you have a specialist area such as Smart meters.

For the small amount you put into a smart meter apprenticeship compared to the vast amounts you gain from completing it, it’s no wonder that 2021 is the year to go smart.
