June was the month where the lockdown restrictions got a little easier and we were able to go out and visit family in their gardens and enjoy more of the outdoors! We’ve been trying to get out every weekend to enjoy family time and escape the walls that we’ve been spending a LOT of time in. Although things aren’t entirely back to normal, it’s been a good month all in all.

What we enjoyed in June 2020

  • is binge watching This Is Us and is completely hooked!
  • has loved visiting the poppy field in Sutton Coldfield and meeting up with a photographer who took some wonderful photographs of our boys.
  • has loved baking treats in the kitchen including these delicious blueberry muffins for Aldi.
  • has really enjoyed researching our family history and finding out new facts about great-great-grandfathers and other distant family members.

  • has loved warm days in the garden and playing in the paddling pool.
  • has ditched his afternoon nap and powers through the afternoon like a superstar. Bedtimes are much easier now he falls asleep within minutes instead of an hour!
  • loves watching Fireman Sam and Poli on Netflix
  • had a fantastic time strawberry picking with Olly and Mummy.

We haven’t got much planned for July as we’re still staying close to home. We’ll probably take some days out with the boys and have more BBQ’s in the garden. Olly has a transition session in school to say goodbye to Year 2 and hello to Year 3 and we might be able to make a start on the big bedroom swap at the end of the month. 13 days left of homeschool to go, yes, I am counting!
