Slimming friendly Mayflower Chicken Curry

If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese curry recipe to enjoy on the Slimming World plan, you have to make this Mayflower Chicken Curry. You need to get your hands on some Mayflower Chinese Style Medium Curry Sauce Mix. It is, probably, the only way to replicate a curry from the Chinese take-away for minimal syns and minimum fuss. It’s delicious and an absolute favourite in our house.

You can buy Mayflower Curry Sauce Mix from a range of retailers. I found some in our local Heron Foods but you can buy it online (ad/aff) from Amazon. It comes in a 255g box and it lasts quite well as you only need 40g of mix per serving. If I’m making it for just me and my husband, we double the recipe (except the onion).

How many syns is Mayflower Curry Sauce?

To work out the syns for the Mayflower Curry Sauce mix, you need to measure out 28g and mix it with 100ml of hot water. This is equivalent to 4 syns per serving. We usually double the powder mix and the amount of water used.

You could also add in as many vegetables as you wish or change the meat for beef or prawns!

This recipe is a real favourite for those who want to enjoy a curry at the end of a busy week. It’s delicious enough to feel like you’re having an actual take-away minus the expense, the wait and the calories!

A delicious authentic Chinese curry dish using Mayflower Curry Sauxe Mix. A real favourite for those on the Extra Easy Slimming World plan.

Ingredients

  • 56g Mayflower Chinese Curry Powder Mix
  • 2 Chicken breasts 
  • 1 Onion 
  • 5 Closed Cup Mushrooms 
  • 50g Peas 
  • Low-fat calorie cooking spray 
  • 200ml Boiling Water 
  • 80g Basmati rice 

Instructions

    Chop the chicken breasts into bite size pieces
    Chop the mushrooms and the onions into bitesize pieces
    Heat a large saucepan and spray with low fat cooking spray
    Add the chicken and brown off
    Add the vegetables to the chicken in the saucepan
    Make up basmati rice as directed on packet
    Mix 56g of Mayflower Curry Mix with 200ml of hot water and mix well
    Add curry sauce to the pan with the cooked chicken and vegetables
    Cook for 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through
    Drain rice
    Serve and enjoy!
