Living Arrows – Week 41 – Cousins

The relationship Little Mr has with his older cousin K is a very special one. There might be 5 years in between them but they absolutely adore each other. Luckily for Little Mr he gets to spend time with his cousin one day per week as when he spends the day with my Mom, they both go and collect K from school and they spend the rest of the afternoon together playing and driving my Mom barmy.

There’s a special bond between them as they both irritate each other but love each other so much. It’s very similar to how I was with my sister when we were growing up. Sometimes, we would happily play games with each other and do practically everything with each other then other days we would bicker and fight and drive each other mad.

Over the weekend, my Sister and my nephew came over to our house and we managed to spend some quality time with each other. Due to life dynamics we don’t get to spend as much time with each other as we would like so it’s always nice to get out with the boys and enjoy the great outdoors.

My nephew had some homework to do for school based on an autumn walk so we went over to Sandwell Valley and went hunting for multi-coloured leaves, branches, acorns and conkers. It was a lovely couple of hours. The boys loved playing in the woods, collecting leaves and climbing upon fallen branches.

We finished off our afternoon with half an hour on the adventure park and although Little Mr had an almighty meltdown about something really insignificant, we had a lovely afternoon.

I really hope one day that I’ll be able to give Little Mr a baby brother or sister to play with as he does his cousin. He’ll be the best big brother ever!
