They say life works in mysterious ways and sometimes things happen when you least expect them to. I never expected to write this blog post this year and to be honest I’m still in a bit of shock that this is all real.

It’s with absolute delight and giddy excitement that we can announce that we’re expecting our second and much wanted baby. Our little peanut is due January 2018.

Pregnancy announcement 2017

We have held off on sharing our news any earlier as I’ve been a bit anxious about it all going wrong and although I’ve already had a reassurance scan, we wanted to get the first trimester safely out the way first. We wanted to get to this point so we could show Olly our dating scan photograph and give him the news that he’s going to be a big brother.

We found out I was pregnant in May and it was THE biggest surprise. I don’t think it sank in for a few weeks. I’m delighted that it was a completely natural conception  (maybe TMI but you all know we were under the consultant care at the Women’s Hospital for a referral in June for fertility treatment.) I am a BIG believer that the medication I fought so fiercely for over the last 12 months has helped us get one step closer to achieving our family dream.

I have so, so much to say about being pregnant and I feel like the luckiest Mama ever right now so over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing lots of pregnancy updates to catch up and fill you all in with how I’ve been feeling (although sickness and dizziness features quite highly!)

But in the meantime, I am so, so relieved to tell you all that I’m pregnant and thankful that fingers crossed, everything is going well so far. Apologies to anyone who I may have avoided talking babies with or told a little fib to when I’ve been asked about how our trying to conceive journey has been going. I hope you’ll understand why I have been so cautious about opening up. It’s a dream come true and one I didn’t want to tempt fate with before today.

And this one, well he’s going to be the best big brother, he’s so very excited and already offered the baby his cot (too cute!)

Keep growing little one, we can’t wait to meet you xx
