Christmas Gift Guide for children aged 6-10

Christmastime for children aged 6-10 can be hugely exciting. It’s a time when some are still enjoying the Christmas magic and love the stories and the make belief, and then there are some children who no longer believe and are very matter of fact about it. With this in mind, I’ve curated a range of Christmas gift ideas for these aged children.

Christmas gift ideas for 6-10 year olds

Some children in this age group are getting more and more interested in music whether they’re developing an interest in playing it or listening to their own choice of music. Toy Story 4 was released earlier this year to the enjoyment of many Disney loving children. Adding a Buzz Lightyear Figurine to their Christmas stocking this year is sure to bring lots of excited squeals. Let them explore their imaginations

From the age of 5 or 6, children are typically able to read and write which allows them to play another level of imaginative games. Books to keep them busy

Having recently had a space topic in school, my 6 year old is now obsessed with all things space. He also loves Where’s Wally? so the Where’s Wally In Outer Space is sure to be a huge hit on Christmas morning. Featuring crazy conundrums and amazing activities, there’s lots to immerse themselves in. But can they find Wally? The book also contains 100 crazy cosmic stickers for interactive play. RRP £5.99.

Keeping their minds busy is always a good idea so this Colour by Numbers Times Tables book is a brilliant gift idea for over Christmas. The book keeps their mind active and lets them learn and reinforce what they already know. Playmobil is always a good idea at Christmas and these blind bags are great for bulking out their stockings. Mix and match the pieces from different figures to create an entirely new character, or combine with an existing PLAYMOBIL playset – the play possibilities are endless! As my 6 year old can read well, we are keen to encourage this and combine his love of reading with learning all about positive role models. The books are really informative and encourage readers to find out more about those amongst us who can inspire and motivate us to do better. Encouraging their love of reading can only be a good thing and with Disney favourites they are sure to read more and be more engaged with stories that they love. The Ultimate Disney Pixar Toy Story collection book is beautiful. It’s personalised with foiling on the front cover and inside it’s personalised to the reader within the story. The personalised book contains nine tales from the world of Disney Pixar’s Toy Story, including adaptations of the iconic trio of films which have all attained cult status. Encourage their inquisitive side

One of the best things about children in this age range is how they have a thirst for knowledge and are always questioning it. Allowing them to explore the sciences in a safe and supervised manner can only be a good thing and science kits are a fantastic gift idea this Christmas.
