*We are annual ambassadors and have press passes to bring you the latest events and news from Sea Life Birmingham
This weekend we took a trip into Birmingham to visit Sea Life Birmingham. It’s one of our favourite places to visit in the city to see lots of different species of fish, various marine life and of course the cheeky Gentoo penguins. Sea Life Birmingham are celebrating Christmas until 23rd December with festive additions to the tanks and a Santa’s Grotto for every child to visit and meet Santa Claus.
Exploring Sea Life Birmingham
The boys were excited to wander around Sea Life, it’s been a few months since our last visit so we were excited to see what had changed and for Freddie to look at the penguins. As each month passes, it’s so wonderful to see my one year old, Freddie become more interested in things around him. He loves animals so it was great to see him looking at all the fish, the sharks, the rays and the giant sea turtle with an excited little expression on his face.
Our first port of call was to watch the Gentoo Penguins swim around in their tanks. They’re beautiful birds and both my boys loved watching them jumping into the water and coming up to the glass to see us. The penguins were definitely interested in seeing who was watching them and one in particular was very interested in Freddie waving at him and saying hello.
It was brilliant to watch my boys looking at the different fish and Olly was excited to collect the stamps in his booklet as he went around the centre. Every time we visit, Olly reads and learns something new. It’s a whole new learning experience every time we go.
Immerse yourself at the cinema
As well as the usual suspects in the Sea Life centre, there’s a festive addition to the 4D immersive cinema. Guests can watch The Polar Express in brilliant 4D. Unfortunately this is something we didn’t do as my one year old wouldn’t sit still long enough for us to try it out but there were lots of excited people queuing up to take in the show.
No trip to the Sea Life this Christmas would be complete without a visit to see Santa in the Grotto. Unless you’re my children of course, who didn’t want to see him so we didn’t queue up. Every child can meet Santa in his Grotto and will receive a small gift, no need to book as a trip to see Santa is included in your ticket price.
We had a lovely morning at Sea Life Birmingham and really enjoyed looking at all the creatures in the tanks. The festive Christmas event is on at Sea Life Birmingham until 23rd December! You can find out more and book your tickets at https://www.visitsealife.com/birmingham/
