BTCC Hospitality with Excelr8 Motorsport

We are big British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) fans and regularly attend race weekends to enjoy the on-track action. As much as we love watching the racing through the fences and on the banks of the track, we love to indulge in team hospitality at least once a year. Last year, we drove up to Oulton Park in Cheshire and enjoyed team hospitality with one of the main teams in the championship, Excelr8 Motorsport. 

Throughout 2025, Excelr8 Motorsport achieved success running their Hyundai i30 cars under Team Vertu. Their drivers included Tom Ingram (who clinched the 2025 BTCC Drivers’ Championship), Tom Chilton, Adam Morgan, Senna Proctor and Michael Crees. Together they achieved 23 podium finishes and at the end of the 2025 season, they secured the BTCC Manufacturers’/Constructors’ title, beating rivals Napa Racing UK by just three points! 

Hospitality at Oulton Park 

Our tickets for hospitality (2 adults and 2 children) cost £450 and included access to the Excelr8 hospitality awning all day whatever the weather. It also included a hot breakfast with rolls, fruit and porridge, a two course lunch, afternoon tea and as much tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks we wanted throughout the day. Circuit entry was additional and we paid £20 each (adults only as U13’s are allowed in free) which Excelr8 organised for us before the event. 

As part of the hospitality package (and what is quite standard across the teams) was a garage tour (albeit Excelr8 offered a virtual tour at Oulton due to space), magic grid tickets for at least one BTCC grid walk, a BTCC drivers Q&A with access to the drivers for autographs and photo opportunities. Our VIP lanyards also gave us access to the Excelr8 garages during a race where we watched all the on track action surrounded by the team and other guests. We also received an event programme with key timings and a useful map, a VIP lanyard and an exclusive 2025 goodie bag which included a drinks bottle, a pair of sunglasses and Team Excelr8 sticker amongst other goodies. 

Why we love hospitality at BTCC?

One of the benefits of hospitality on a race weekend is the access to the action. My boys are huge BTCC fans and being amongst the action in a team garage on race day is something that you cannot replicate anywhere else. It’s exciting, it’s being able to get up close to the drivers and talk to them, being able to have photographs taken and get their autographs on team posters and lanyards. 

It also has the fantastic opportunity to walk on the grid at a race track as part of the pre-race fanfare! Luckily Freddie was just about tall enough to walk on the grid (Marshall’s have a measuring stick they measure the height of children with to ensure track safety) so he was able to join us on the grid to see the race cars up close ahead of the race. Of course, we had to get up close to our favourite BTCC driver, Daniel Rowbottom in car 32 on the Oulton Park track, as well as watching what happens on the grid with the hustle and bustle of the team readying the cars and drivers ahead of the race. 

Chance to unwind and get warm 

We had a brilliant day out at Oulton Park, the weather was typically British so it was good to escape back to the hospitality unit to warm up and grab a cup of coffee in between races. The food throughout the day was delicious and the afternoon tea was particularly welcomed by the boys as they are always hungry, and it’s so nice not to have to pay for anything additional around the track! It was also a great way to unwind after walking around the track, the paddock and the other offerings within the circuit and escape from the rain! 

Podium moments are the best 

One of our favourite things to do when we’re at a race day is to stand by the podium truck and watch the drivers collect their trophies! It’s such a fantastic moment to share in the joy of our favourite drivers seeing their hard work on track pay off. The boys love cheering them on and it’s a great way to make memories. Of course, you don’t need to buy hospitality tickets to enjoy these moments, they just add to the magic of the day! 

We cannot wait to see the on-track action of the BTCC in 2026 which kicks off in 84 days (yes, we’re counting!) Which tracks are you heading to this year?
