Well I certainly didn’t expect to be writing about how bizarre our month has been but this is our reality right now. We are in the middle of a pandemic with Coronavirus affecting our normal every day. Olly’s school is now closed for the foreseeable (open to key workers children only), Greg is working from home as the UK Government have asked everyone to stay at home. This means in reality that we’re all staying at home, away from family and friends, only allowed out of the house for essential trips to the supermarket, to take some exercise and to help volunteer for those who are in need in the community. You can read our first week in lockdown in the Lockdown Diaries here.

Whilst everything around is changing and restrictions are in place, we’re trying our best to remain as positive as possible, keeping the boys happy and shielded away from the news and as occupied as best we can. We’ve been playing games, staying in our pjs, watching movies, enjoying the sunshine and playing in the back garden.

March 2020 Me and Mine

However, I believe it’s still really important to be positive and focus on the here and now so with that in mind, here’s what we have enjoyed and are grateful for as a family in March 2020.

  • Seeing our family and keeping in touch via FaceTime and the HouseParty app
  • Spending more time with the boys
  • Baking biscuits and sweet treats with the boys
  • Using Greg’s parents back garden as a safe space to run around whilst they stay in the house and watch the boys play.
  • Spending time in the back garden playing on scooters and playing football
  • Watching out for the International Space Station going overhead and seeing Venus and the Moon
  • The boys got me flowers and some chocolates for Mothers Day which was wonderful of them.
  • The new Disney+ app is brilliant and is keeping us entertained as we watch all our favourite Disney films.
  • Seeing how the local community are coming together to rally together to make sure everyone has what they need
  • THE INTERNET!

Obviously all our plans for April are cancelled. It’s Greg’s birthday too so I’m hoping we can make the most of his day and enjoy his birthday once we can see friends and family again.

I hope you and your family stay safe and well!
