Welcome March. Another month gone and we’re steadily racing towards spring. I love the lighter nights, the evenings seem to last that little bit longer and our meal preferences change with the season too. No longer do we want stodgy comfort food with the stews and casseroles but lighter meals make an appearance on the meal plan.

Last week I was concerned about lunches but I made an effort to make time for them and I did well. I had quite a few salads with hard boiled eggs and pickles. I love pickles! I have gherkin’s, pickled onions and pickled beetroot. I’ve always been a fan! Freddie seemed to like his lunches last week too. They weren’t anything special but he picked Thomas the Tank pasta shapes in tomato sauce with some toast and ate it all. Some days, he really struggles to eat lunch but last week he was on form! Go Freddie!

Meal plan this week

  • Gammon, eggs, actifry chips with peas, mushrooms and pineapple
  • Chicken Chow Mein
  • SW Burgers with salad (for me) / Burgers with oven chips for the boys
  • Chicken Jambalaya (didn’t get round to making this meal last week)
  • Pizzas for the boys
  • Hot dogs and wedges / Low fat sausages for me and wedges with salad
  • Butter Chicken Curry (another meal we didn’t manage last week but want to try this week)

Slimming World Week 8 Update

Big week for me this week. I wanted to get a 3lb weight loss to achieve my 1 and a half stone loss award and I did it! I misread the scales when I stood on and thought I had put weight on but in fact I had lost 3lb. That’s 21lb in 8 weeks which I am very happy with. I’m seeing differences in my body now which spurs me on to keep making positive choices when it comes to meal times and in-between.

Yay! Go me!

I’ll write a more detailed update about how I’m finding the SW plan again as I don’t want to bore the non-diet readers but so far so good!

I’m linking up with Katy Kicker’s Meal Plan Linky where you can find lots of other bloggers meal plans and inspiration for your meals.

  1. I haven’t made a jambalaya in years. That’s definitely going on next weeks plan. Thanks!

  2. Ahh! I have noticed it being lighter on an evening. Half five and the sun was still shining.
It sounds like the lunches are going well. I have been making a point of eating lunch every day instead of just snacking and I feel better for it.
I keep meaning to put gammon on my meal plan. We all love it here but haven’t had it in ages.
    Great meal plan x

  3. You can’t buy gammon in France – no idea why ! – but I brought some back with us so that’ll be on next week’s plan. I was wondering whether to go with eggs or pineapple, but your plan has the answer – just do both ! lol :) Well done on your weight loss – go you !
