Since having our bathroom renovated last year, I have wanted to make more decorative changes to our home. Unfortunately I don’t have the budget that my Pinterest account desires and therefore I’m having to make smaller changes that won’t break the bank, in various rooms to update our home. One of the ways in which it’s easier to change the whole look of a room is by changing the art work on the walls. Both our dining room (come play room) and the boys bedroom both need a bit of TLC and so when Desenio asked me to choose some of their prints to change up my walls, I was excited.
Desenio are an online wall art company that specialise in a huge selection of prints for the home. As well as selling prints in all sorts of sizes, they sell frames too so you can buy everything you need to update your own walls at home with a couple of clicks.
It is no word of a lie but it took me forever to decide which prints to choose. The selection is insane. So many gorgeous prints to choose from ranging from black and white arty type prints, graphical, motivational and iconic photos to name just a few of the 23 categories of available prints.
Updating the wall art in the dining room
In our dining room / play room, as we had just moved some of our frames into the lounge, I thought I should fill the space left behind by the move. It’s a family space used by us all on a daily basis and could be said it’s the heart of our home. As I love all things astronomy and Olly is slowly learning more about planets, stars and galaxies, I thought star sign prints for us all would be a lovely idea.
I really love these star sign prints on the website. They have a touch of gold leaf text at the lower portion and it looks really lovely as it’s contrasting with the huge navy blue dot in the centre of the white print.
I decided upon star sign prints for all four of us and I really love the look of them all hanging up above the main unit in the dining / play room. I am a huge believer in personality being linked to when you were born and love the Scorpio print. Olly has been asking recently following his trip to the planetarium all about stars and what they mean so it was really lovely way to show off some of what he has been taught recently about the Greek Gods creating pictures in the sky.
The star sign prints are sized 30cm x 40cm and are poster size prints. The prints we received include Capricorn, Aquarius, Aries and Scorpio. They’re made from Matte Premium Paper and they feel really good quality. I ordered the correctly sized frame for the print and I have hung them on the wall. I really like how striking they look all together on the wall.
Updating the boys’ bedroom
Another of the rooms I am desperate to have a good clear out and move round is that of our boys. Olly, aged 6 and Freddie, aged 1 both share the bedroom and will do for a very long time! The room has been decorated to Olly’s taste rather than Freddie’s and in a few months, we’ll be hopefully getting bunkbeds to make use of the space in their room.
I wanted to celebrate some of the moments that Olly has had over the last couple of years with some photographs of his favourite footballer and the one time he was allowed into the tunnel at his beloved Walsall FC.
The prints I chose for their bedroom was ‘Don’t Grow Up, It’s a Trap‘ and that’s something I say to Olly when I realise he’s grown again and in desperate need of some new clothes for the Summer months. The second print I chose was the ‘Little Moments Big Memories‘ print and I love it. It resonates with me as Olly and Freddie have shared many little moments together and most of them Olly can recall. They obviously made an impression!
I am so pleased with my prints from Desenio. They’re modern, clean and crisp and look really lovely on the wall.
