They say a (wo)man’s home is his/her castle and having been a home owner for the past 12 years, home security is something that has always been important. Since my children have come along, I make sure I do everything possible to protect them which of course means, ensuring our home is safe and secure at all times. We have recently been introduced to the Neos SmartCam, a home security camera that is small enough to be discreet and effective enough to make a difference to our home security and we really like it.
The Neos SmartCam is a small portable home camera that you can install anywhere in your home. Using a mains electricity USB connection, the Neos SmartCam is really easy to set up; plug in, download the Neos App and enter a few details. Using the Neos app which can be downloaded to a mobile device on Android and Apple, we have set up our SmartCam in our new home office. It’s a room we want to keep secure when we’re not using it and using the Neo SmartCam features, we’re able to check in on each other if one of us is at our desks in the office.
Features of the Neos SmartCam
The picture quality of the camera is brilliant. It’s 1080p full HD and gives a crystal clear picture on your smart phone. It also has night vision so you can check your camera’s feed in the dark. The camera has motion and noise detection and if enabled, the camera will detect both motion and sound notifying you through the app.
It has 2-way audio so I can speak to my husband in the office and he can respond accordingly. This is particularly useful when I want to ask my husband a question, he can reply out loud and this will come through the sound on my phone.
The camera has 8x digital zoom which allows for a really detailed view, this is enabled in both live view and in playback mode. It has cloud recording which stores 12 seconds of video on the cloud and it is SD card compatible to continuously record video even without Wi-Fi.
The Neos SmartCam is a fantastic smart home camera. It is unobtrusive, quick and easy to use and can be used by more than one person via the easy-to-use app. We have found the Neos SmartCam to be perfect for our needs and we are considering buying a second device to use as a baby monitor for when I want to work in the office and Freddie needs his nap upstairs in our bedroom.
The Neos SmartCam is a great option for those wanting to have peace of mind when leaving the house and having an instant access to what is going on at home. Whether it’s a camera to keep an eye on the dogs whilst you’re at work or a helping hand with the children (perhaps to check up on what time they come home from school?!) it’s a brilliant piece of kit that has worked brilliantly for us so far.

The Neos SmartCam is affordable for all. At just £19.99, plus £4.99 for tracked next day delivery, it is an affordable home security camera which is suitable for all budgets but doesn’t go without.
