Babies don’t stay little for very long and I knew during my pregnancy with Freddie that I wanted to capture some special photographs of him as a teeny tiny newborn baby. We had some similar photographs taken of Olly when he was a baby and I wanted to do the same for Freddie, to look back on, reminisce and to capture the memories of now. I also wanted someone professional to take some special photographs of both my boys together and I knew just the person to do it.
I met Cat online via a baby group we were both in for our now five year olds. Cat had set up her own photography business ‘Kitty Belle Photography‘ at her studio in Leicestershire and her business has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. The photographs that Cat has shared online of other children are absolutely beautiful and really do capture the innocence of little ones and the incredible bond between siblings. I couldn’t wait to book in with her to take some photographs of my boys together.
As I knew the date of my planned c-section, I booked a date in with Cat for the photo shoot in mid-January. Ideally she likes to capture images of the babies during their first two weeks as that’s when they’re sleepy and squishy and beautiful. Freddie was 12 days old when we took him for the photoshoot and he was so well behaved. Cat has an array of props so I didn’t need to take anything other than a feed or two with us for Freddie and some neutral clothing for us. I had asked if we could have some siblings shots taken as well as a couple of family photos.
On the day, I was excited but nervous yet I didn’t need to be at all. Cat was lovely. A really friendly and personable lady who instantly put us at ease, made us both a hot cup of tea and took Freddie off us to begin working her magic. It was lovely to see her with him. She was so patient and caring. We really did feel comfortable with her handling our precious newborn. We had a lovely four hours with her, she must have took hundred of photographs of Freddie in various poses and outfits as well so I couldn’t wait to see the professionally edited photographs.
A few weeks later, I got a message from Cat to say the photographs were on their way. I was so excited! When they arrived, I was blown away by them. She has taken some incredible shots of our baby boy and they are absolutely beautiful. She’s also managed to capture the special bond between both of our boys and I am in awe of her talent. Such a clever lady!
They say a picture paints a thousand words so here’s a selection of my favourite photographs taken from the shoot because I cannot do them justice in words.
Aren’t they beautiful? I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Kitty Belle Photography for any newborn photoshoots. She is such a lovely lady and her work is worth every penny. Thank you Cat for capturing the most incredible photographs of my boys. Now to choose which ones to print off and frame!
Disclosure: I paid for the photoshoot myself but wanted to share details of Cat’s work as she is just brilliant.
