Keeping the floors clean with the Bissell Vac & Steam Cleaner // Review

With a young family, keeping my floors clean is a never ending task. My floors are always subjected to crumbs, fluff and the odd bit of discarded toast as well as pieces of Lego, jigsaws pieces and a hundred and one cars. Whilst the floors are often used as a playground for my children, I dread to think about all the nasties that can lurk underfoot and that’s why its essential I steam clean my floors.

When you’ve got little ones running around, you want to make sure that the floor they’re crawling all over and playing on is clean and one of the ways that I’ve been ensuring my floors are safe for my boys is with the Bissell Vac and Steam Cleaner. Steam cleaning is the most effective way of removing bacteria and the Vac and Steam Cleaner uses a 100% chemical free steam to kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria.

Bissell Vac and Steam Cleaner

The Bissell Vac and Steam Cleaner is a very clever piece of kit. The cleaner can be used in three ways; it can be used as a stick vacuum to vacuum up dry debris around the home, it can steam and sanitise hard floors as well as vacuum and steam clean at the same time. The latter function is brilliant and can save so much time. No longer will I be vacuuming up the bits and then getting on my hands and knees to wet-wipe the floors around the house. The Bissell Vac and Steam can do both jobs at the same time in half the time.

The cleaner is really easy to use. The easy touch digital controls are at your fingertips on the handle of the cleaner and you can easily switch between vacuum, low steam and high steam functions. The vacuum can be used on a variety of floors including hard floors such as laminate and vinyl as well as carpet. It comes with two microfibre pads; a white one for everyday use on laminates etc and a grey and white pad which can be used for scrubbing heavier soiled floors. It has a easy release mop pad tray which allows you to easily take off the pads and use the cleaner in vacuum mode.

When vacuuming, the cleaner has dry-tank technology which separates dry debris from the steam. This debris can then be easily discarded in the quick release dirt cup so you don’t have to get your hands dirty getting rid of the waste. I really like that the cleaner has a really good cable length, 7.6 metres so I can clean a good sized room without having to argue with the cable.

The Bissell Vac and Steam comes with two microfibre pads which are machine washable, a water filler jug and a couple of scent discs. The scent discs can be added to the pads which release a scent when the steam passes through them.

I’ve been using the Bissell Vac and Steam on my hard floors in the house, notably the hallway, the kitchen and the bathroom and I really like it. It’s an easy to use cleaner which does two jobs in one go. The cleaner is relatively light to push around the floor which is ideal for me post c-section. It means I can vacuum all the dry bits of dirt in the hallway whilst steam cleaning the floor. I can then easily change the function of the cleaner to just the vacuum setting to clean up the crumbs in the dining room and then easily vacuum and steam clean the kitchen floor. It makes cleaning a whole lot easier and I’m happy in the knowledge that I’m steam cleaning the floors making them safer for my boys to play on.

This looks fab, I think I need to invest in something like this as we have hard flooring throughout the downstairs and it is a nightmare to keep clean x
