Review: Toddlebike – Little Mr’s first bike

Just after last Summer, Little Mr was introduced to the world of the Toddlebike, a pre-balance bike for toddlers aged 1-3. The Toddlebike is a highly durable plastic bike that is really lightweight (less than 1kg) and perfect for introducing little ones in to the world of riding bikes.

When Little Mr first saw the Toddlebike he was intrigued. At 18 months old, I thought it was the right time to introduce him to his first bike (he had a ride on toy for his first birthday but didn’t enjoy sitting on it) and Toddlebike recommend that the bike is introduced to little ones when they can confidently walk, which is usually around 15 months old. Little Mr sat on the Toddlebike and played with the handlebars and then got off. He got back on again sitting on the frame rather than the seat and tried to move on the bike. After losing his balance, he fell off and wandered off to play with something else.

Since then, we’ve had much more success with the Toddlebike although it has been a slow success story for us. Little Mr will now happily sit on the seat and push himself along on the bike without falling off but it has taken us a good six months to get to this point.

Using the Toddlebike has really helped his confidence with other ride on toys and he will now happily spend half an hour playing with his cars and bikes, swapping between them all and lining them all up. He loves to push himself on the bike and he’s got much faster with experience.

The Toddlebike is available in Primary, Pink or Neon colours and would make a brilliant gift for a first Birthday or Christmas. I really like how the bike can be used both outdoors and indoors.  The bike is waterproof and weatherproof so not to worry if it’s left outside in the garden during a British downpour.

The Toddlebike is amazing value for money. It retails at only £23.95 and is excellent quality. I’m sure the Toddlebike will last us many years and enjoyed by many little ones who use it.

We would certainly recommend the Toddlebike as it’s really help build up Little Mr’s confidence when using other ride on toys and he’s loved all the new experiences he’s has as he’s learnt how to balance on the bike and move the bike faster. A brilliant addition to the garden or the playroom for little ones learning how to ride a bike.

The Toddlebike can be bought online, Amazon or John Lewis.

Looks amazing. If we wouldnt have so many ride ons in the house it would be something I’d definitely purchase.

This looks like a good sturdy ride on! It reminds me we have a Scramble bug actually – I must get that out for Amy.
