Another month on and Little Mr is now 11 months old today. He’s developed rapidly over the last four weeks and I’ve really noticed a big difference in him, he’s certainly growing up!
Little Mr is brilliant at eating food all by himself now. He rarely lets me feed him with the spoon (except his fromage frais). He prefers to pick things up himself and tear little bits off the food instead of trying to cram it all in. We’re still trying new things out with him and so far he’s a bit of a fan of quiche, chicken curry and blueberries.
He’s upped his milk intake of late which has concerned me as I’m a little worried he’s hungry. He would usually tell us if he’s full by pushing away the food we offer him so I’m just going to continue feeding him and offering the milk at the usual times to see what happens. I’m planning on changing his milk from formula to full fat cows milk after the next tub of formula is finished. I hope he likes it because he’s not a fan of water. We’ve tried giving him some juice and squash but so far he’s not too keen. If anyone has any tips I’d love to hear them.
Oh Little Mr and his sleep. For reasons unknown to me, Little Mr has decided to wake up throughout the night and has become really unsettled. I have no idea why as we have kept the same routine he’s had since he was a baby (when he used to sleep through) but the wake ups are getting a lot more frequent.
He’s napping (at best) twice throughout the day. Usually for half an hour mid-morning and for about an hour mid-afternoon. We’ve noticed that if he doesn’t have two naps, we have an awful time getting him to sleep. Unfortunately, getting him to nap twice throughout the day is out of my hands when he’s with his Grandparents during the week but he really needs it.
After all the attempts at crawling, shuffling his body and his own little body popping style, Little Mr crawled across the carpet to me just before Christmas at 44 weeks old. I couldn’t have been any more proud. I enticed him across the carpet for a biscuit and he crawled all the way over to me. Of course now, 3 weeks later there’s no stopping him. He’s really quick too!
On Wednesday this week he discovered a new talent; standing up! He’s mastered the technique of moving from a sitting down position to crawling towards something then using that as a lever to hoist himself up. You name it, the sofa, the gate, the cot. He’s using it to stand up with. What a clever boy! I predict now he’ll be cruising around the furniture in next to no time and he’ll be walking soon.
Apart from what sounds like yes and no, Little Mr hasn’t learnt any other new words. I’m frequently asking him to say Mumma but do you think he says it as freely as Dadda? Of course not. I’ll keep trying!
Just love him
With only four weeks to go until my baby boy’s first birthday, I’m sure we’re going to see a whole load of new tricks from this cheeky little chap and I don’t want to miss a thing. I’m taking photographs every day of him this year for a 365 project which will hopefully be a lovely collection of photographs to look back on in the future. I’m probably a little photograph obsessed but I don’t care, i’m him Mummy and a very proud one at that.
