Little Mr’s Library

When we were putting together ideas for Little Mr’s nursery, one of the things I wanted on our ‘must have’ list was shelving for a library collection of our favourite books to share with our son. Both hubby and I have grew up loving books and although we don’t get much chance these days to read, we wanted to make sure that Little Mr grew up with books in his life from an early age.
Reading books to Little Mr is an essential part of his bedtime routine and we believe it is good development for him to hear us reading out loud to him and for him to start looking at the illustrations in the books. Obviously at only 4 and a half months old he’s not going to understand what we’re reading to him but it will help us with our bond and gives us a chance to re-read some of our childhood favourites.

Books in his collection include Dear Zoo, The Gruffallo, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Zoe and Beans to name just a few. Over the next few months I’ll be looking at his book collection and showing you some of our favourites.Would love to hear what your favourite books are for your little ones?

    Great choices here.

I’ve read to E since I was 6-7 months pregnant. She has a few of my old books, including all of my old Beatrix Potter books. Her favourite books at the moment are Cluck Cluck, Rattle Rattle (a book which has a rattle in it!) and Busters Zoo- she’ll sit looking at them on the floor for ages! She also loves Peepo and Each Peach Pear Plum.

Dear Zoo, The Gruffalo & The Hungry Caterpillar are firm faves here too. Barry’s Fishfingers & fairy tales are Z’s current books of choice :)
