Christmas is around the corner and it will soon be time to relax and unwind and spend much-needed quality time with your family and friends. For us, Christmas is a real family occasion. We love to spend time with immediate and extended family catching up on news whilst eating all the buffet, and enjoying a family game or two. We have played some brilliant family games over the years which have provided us all with lots of giggles and memories of fun times. This year we have some new additions to the family board game pile and we cannot wait to play them.
Board games for the whole family
With a range of ages across our extended family, finding something to play that will entertain the whole family can be a bit of a challenge. Too challenging or technical and you’ll alienate the little ones and too immature and the teens will lose interest fast. We have two new family games that will be great fun this Christmas plus a new karaoke machine to break out for when the festivities are in full swing.
Soggy Doggy

This is a brilliant hands on, interactive board game for the whole family. Suitable for children aged 4 years and up, the aim of the game is to make it around the board to get to the doggy basket before the soggy doggy decides he wants to shake off all the water. It’s a really easy game to set up and play. You’ll need between 2 and 4 players, access to water to fill up the bath and we had a towel on stand by for all the soggy doggy action. Little ones will love to wash the dog in the bath, brush his hair and eagerly await the action as they take turns to move around the board.

We played the game recently with our boys and they absolutely loved it. There was plenty of laughs, giggles and cheers as the soggy doggy decided to shake himself dry as my little boy turned the bath tap. It was so funny to see his reaction every time the dog shook in the bathtub. We cannot wait to play this game with the rest of the family this Christmas.
Beat The Chasers

As family board games go, we love to find a game that is suitable for the whole family. There’s a wide range of ages in the family and finding a game that everyone is familiar with is always a winner. Beat The Chasers, the family quiz game, is based on the popular TV gameshow The Chase. As a family, we absolutely love the gameshow and regularly watch and join in with the questions in a bid to beat the chaser.

The game starts with a multiple-choice question cash builder round as game participants answer some of the 1200 questions. Next up is the head to head showdown where each player decides how many of the Chasers they want to take on. Just like the show, the more Chasers you face, the more money you could win. Each question answered correctly stops the clock and starts the Chasers clock. It’s a brilliant game that tests the general knowledge of the family and can be played with 3-7 players aged 10 years upwards.
Sing your heart out with RockJam
Karaoke is a real family favourite and getting the chance to have a sing-song with your cousin is always a great idea. The RockJam Rechargeable Party Karaoke Machine performs as both a Bluetooth speaker and PA system when not rocking the house as a karaoke machine. It simply connects via Bluetooth, USB, or Aux-in to any mobile device, tablet, or smart tv. The karaoke machine comes with two microphones, it’s really easy to sing your favourite duet this Christmas.

For daily use, RockJam can be used as a Bluetooth speaker, with its inbuilt rechargeable battery, you can take the speaker to the park, the beach or just in the comfort of your very own back garden. It has a 10-watt speaker which is loud enough to fill a good-sized room. RockJam has an inbuilt light show thanks to the integrated LED disco lights which can be turned on and off depending on your preference.
We hope we’ve given you some ideas of board games to enjoy with your family and friends this festive season. Remember to have fun and enjoy yourself, it’s the wonderful memories that make us smile in years to come.
