We’ve had a great week this week, there’s been quality family time and no illness, hurrah! The sun has been shining too so it’s all been rather pleasant. Onto this week’s #LittleLoves

Read

I’ve started a new book this week and although I’ve not had chance to read much of it yet, it’s by one of my favourite authors Dorothy Koomson. It’s called That Girl From Nowhere and there’s a sentence on the front of the book cover which says ‘Could you keep your child a secret?’ which already has caught my attention and I can’t wait to read more.

Watched

I’ve enjoyed watching Five Star Babies: Inside the Portland this week. It’s a documentary showing how the other half have their babies at the private Portland Hospital. There’s no tea and toast in recovery there, more like champers and clotted cream scones! It’s a great insight into how the rich pay for their medical care which I don’t blame them for at all. It’s a great lifestyle to have if you can afford it. Mothers can also put their newborns into the nursery all night if they want to ‘catch up’ on their sleep but I feel a little sad that they don’t get the whole brand new-bonding experience with their little ones. Just goes to show every parent is different.

Heard

On the way home from work this week, me and Olly have been listening to a Disney CD in the car. It’s a storybook cd so Olly has been reading the books as the story is read out. His favourite this week is The Lion King and I have to say it’s probably my favourite too!

Made

I’ve made more of an effort to get back on track with my diet this week and we’ve made some yummy meals. My absolutely favourite meal at the moment is homemade SW friendly Chicken Kievs.

They’re a delicious alternative to shop bought ones (without the heartburn) and I can enjoy them on plan too!

Wore

On Saturday we all got dressed up to celebrate my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary. I bought this really pretty dress from Dorothy Perkins along with the boxy jacket and I love it.

Pretty Dress

I haven’t bought an outfit like this for a while but I can wear it in the sunshine on holiday and wear it to the summer wedding we’re going to so I’ll get plenty of use out of it.

And lastly

Family time this week has been lovely. Over the weekend we saw all my hubby’s side of the family and my Parents, Sister and Nephew were invited to the celebrations too.

Shiltons

It was so lovely for everyone to be together and enjoy a delicious meal and have a catch up.

Boys

We stayed over at the hotel and Olly got to enjoy sleeping on the bottom of a bunk bed and we enjoyed a yummy hotel breakfast.

  1. Oh my word! I completely forgot about Five Star Babies, I am yet to catch up on this weeks episode, but last weeks was a real eye opener! What parent doesn’t want those first extra special baby moments after birth! The chicken Kiev looks yummy! Nothing beats family time! Have a wonderful weekend xx

  2. Love that dress & jacket, need an outfit for a wedding next month – did you buy it recently in Dotty Ps? Thanks! Ruth

  3. Your family time sounds lovely and I have never made a kiev – looks awesome! Your dress is absolutely beautiful x

  4. Family time is so good hey! So lovely to have the sun shining and the opportunity to spend time with loved ones! That dress looks great on you-Dorothy Perkins is a shop I either find loads in or nothing! Usually loads when I don’t have the money-lol! Have a great weekend x

  5. Love your dress! I’ve been meaning to try the SW kievs, they look delicious! I forgot the programme was on, it sounds entertaining! My mum said when I was born babies went into a nursery at night, I’d find it a bit odd though. I had enough trouble parting with my little one when they took him off for a bath (he was born in Spain and they scrub the life out of the poor little things with what looks like a brillo pad then bring them back bright pink and smothered in lemon cologne!) let alone a whole night! Have a good week! x
