We began the Easter holidays with a fun filled day at one of our favourite local attractions, the National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. We have been to the farm on a number of occasions over the last year and we love how versatile they make the activities to suit the time of year.

Throughout the Easter holidays between 28th March until 15th April 2015, the farm celebrates Easter with an egg-stravaganza of fun around the fields. There’s plenty to see and lots of activities for little ones to take part in.

We arrived at the farm late morning and as the weather was dry we took advantage and spent some time outside walking around the farm looking at the animals.

In the barn, there’s many new animals to say hello to and Little Mr was obsessed with the little lambs. He loves watching Shaun the Sheep so he was so happy to meet the lambs and spent ten minutes ‘baaaing’ at them and feeding them pellets of food. I was so impressed with how brave he was, he just put his hand straight out to feed them. He had no fear!

We then walked around the farm to the Easter Eggspress (the tractor and trailer ride) which Little Mr couldn’t wait for. The Easter Eggspress is a bumpy but enjoyable ride through the fields to the woodland trail which is a new part of the farm that we hadn’t explored before.

We followed the trail through the trees answering questions along the way and we met a Squirrel and a Mole who had riddles for us to answer.

We were in the woodland for a good 20 minutes and it was a such fun following the trail and meeting the characters. Little Mr got involved and he loved running off spotting the signs to find the elusive Easter Bunny.

At the end of the trail Little Mr was delighted to spot the Easter bunny and they shared high-fives as Little Mr handed over his quiz sheet and was given a chocolate treat in return. The woodland trail is a really nice addition to the Farm and the characters were brilliant, very convincing and friendly.

Back at the farm there’s Easter craft activities to take part in, you can feed the lambs, stroke the baby chicks, an Easter chick hunt around the fun field with spot prizes if you complete the hunt as well as the usual tractor rides, jumping pillows, crazy golf, sandpit and go karts.

There’s also the opportunity to plant your own cress in the Kitchen Garden which Little Mr loved doing. We’ve now got some cress growing happily on our window ledge in our kitchen. We can’t wait to see the cress sprouting through the compost.

We had a fantastic afternoon at the National Forest Adventure Farm and came home with smiles on our faces, mud on our boots and bonus chocolate from the Easter Bunny.

Between 28th March and 15th April 2015, individuals aged 2+ are priced at £10.75, Senior Citizen tickets are priced at £9.90 and under twos go free.
