On Saturday afternoon, Little Mr and I escaped the chaos of home to visit my Grandparents at their home in Birmingham. My Grandad has been quite poorly recently (he had a stroke 3 months ago) so it’s really important that we spend time with him to aid his recovery with familiar faces, voices and giggles from the family.
We met my Mom, Sister, Brother-in-law and Nephew at my Grandparents and we spent the afternoon having fun in the garden in the sunshine. It was a strange day weather wise but it was warm so we headed out in the garden to play a game of snakes and ladders that my Grandparents had bought for afternoons like this.

It was so lovely to see Little Mr playing with his cousin (he has missed him SO much after spending seven days straight with him on holiday) and with my Grandparents, his Great-Grandparents. I love to see the smiles on the faces of my Grandparents, they really love spending time with all their Grandchildren and we love seeing them together. A simple game, a hour of brilliant sunshine and giggles that filled the air. It really is the small things that mean the most.
We all had a lovely couple of hours together, drinking tea and resisting cake (My Nan had baked a delicious looking cake but I resisted it – GO ME!) and it was so good to see my Grandad looking so well and interacting so well with us. These are very precious times and ones that sometimes are so ordinary but are etched in my heart forever.

His hair is just gorgeous Emma, I can’t get over how curly it is. And those games look like fun, I love the big soft dice! There is nothing better than spending time in the garden with family in the sunshine is there? I never want this Summer to end!
