If you are married to a football fan, you know that their favourite team is often a third person in your relationship! You are there with them during the highs and lows of the season, and you probably know more football facts than you realise.
Whenever there is a big occasion, football-based presents are sure to be winners. Here are some ideas for your spouse’s next present.
Football table
Football tables are always popular in pubs and arcades, so they make great presents for footie fans. You may be worried that a full-sized table will take over your house, but you could put it in the garage and turn it into a football cave – perfect for watching the matches, relaxing and playing FIFA! Alternatively, you can get smaller tabletop versions.
Although devoting time to another football-related activity may seem counterintuitive, football tables provide great opportunities for family game time. Splitting into teams and hosting a tournament will encourage communication, teamwork and make lasting memories.
An iconic football shirt
Clothing is always a risky present, but a football shirt will always be a hit. There may be a specific player that your spouse loves, in which case it is an easy buy.
You could always get a bit creative and order a personalised shirt from their favourite team. Add their nickname on the back or ‘Daddy’ or ‘Mummy’ if it is from the kids. The number could be a significant date such as your wedding day or the date you first met. This will look great as well as being sentimental.
Vintage football shirts will be perfect for a football fan of the past. If your partner loves the England team that nurtured talent such as Lineker, Wright and Pearce, then a 1990 -1992 England shirt will be a special present. These tend to be a bit more expensive though, so you might want to reserve themfor a big birthday or celebration. If you want to go the extra mile, get the top framed to preserve the historic significance. This would make a great addition to a football cave as well as being a huge talking point!
Lego football sets
If your football fan also has other hobbies such as Lego and being creative, then why not combine the two?
Lego has partnered with Manchester United to allow fans to immortalise themselves in the iconic Reds shirt. You can design the figure to look exactly like your spouse. This miniature will make the perfect addition to a work desk or bookcase.

For bigger projects, Lego has produced a few football stadium kits. Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is made up of almost 6,000 pieces – enough to keep your other half busy! This is a must-have for any Real Madrid supporter.
