If you’ve got a big night out planned or are out celebrating with friends or family, you might be considering getting your hair done. Washed, trimmed, blow dried, curled, it’s all part of making yourself feel good. Having someone else to do it is a big bonus for me. Being able to sit and relax whilst someone else is worrying about your hair can be a luxury but one that is worth taking time out for.
I love going to the salon. The environment is always friendly and relaxed and it’s a chance for me to sit down, not worry about any of the family and go from everyday Mum hair to ‘going out out’ glam. I love to treat myself and get my hair done. When finances allow, I love to get a colour. I love the Balayage hair colour, a look that is so very popular right now. I think my hairstyle is too short currently but it’s certainly a look I’m keeping in mind should I grow my locks out.
My favourite going out out hair
One of my favourite looks to ask for at the salon is big, bouncy and curly. I love volume and having the professionals being able to get the look right first time is always a winner. I love to get a wash and conditioning treatment first. It’s something I do so quickly at home, I don’t really give my hair the attention it deserves. Next up, I ask for a big bouncy blow dry to add volume from the root. This always makes my hair look thicker and healthier.
Once my hair is blow dried, I ask for curls to be added and my hairdresser usually does this with the straighteners. It’s a technique I’ve not yet mastered myself although they make it look so easy!

I love the look it achieves. A big bouncy blow dry with curls is my go to ‘out out’ hair do. It’s such a contrast from my every day hair style that it always looks brilliant. I make an effort with my make up and pop on some lipstick and I’m ready to go!

What’s your favourite ‘out out’ hairstyle? Do you go to the salon or can you achieve the same look at home?
