Hurrah! It’s finally February, didn’t January drag on? I’m pleased it’s a new month, there’s a new start to make a difference and get organised. I cleared the food cupboards out over the weekend and threw away everything that was out of date, put some tins and packets in a bag for the food bank as I know we won’t use them (I was given them at Slimming World) and made a list of things we might need for the food shop. I also cleaned out the fridge so it is all sparkly and fresh again for the new month.

My future self will thank me!

This week I’m attempting to be more organised with the food preparation and cooking. Usually I’m the one to cook, because I’m at home with the boys and my husband is still at work or on the way home. I love getting time to cook but have struggled in the past with holding a narky toddler whilst trying to make the dinner, it just stresses me out! Thankfully, as Freddie is getting older and more independent, I’m able to leave him to play whilst I get on with the cooking.

What’s on the meal plan this week

You can tell it’s a new month with the meal plan this week. My husband has been food shopping and we’ve got in meats and fresh vegetables to eat and enjoy.

  • Slow Cooker Beef Stew
  • Gammon, Egg and Chips / Gammon Salad with pickles
  • Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff (Pinch of Nom)
  • Sausage Casserole (will make this up as I go along!)
  • Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie with potatoes and peas
  • Campfire Stew (will cook up the meat for sandwiches and lunch!)

We’ll be out celebrating our eldest’s birthday at the weekend, he’s going to be 7 years old. We have a couple of vouchers to use up so will probably use those for our dinner and on Sunday we have family coming round for a small birthday tea.

Slimming World Week 4 update

I was really pleased to see that I had lost 2lb this week taking my weight loss in 4 weeks to 14lb. My first stone gone! I know it’s not always going to disappear so quickly but I’m pleased it’s a good start to my weight loss. I’ll do a proper update on my SW progress and how I’ve found it shortly but for now, I’m pleased and ready to smash the next stone!
