It’s our little boy’s first Christmas this year and we’re really looking forward to it. I know he won’t remember it or even know that it’s his first Christmas but there’s something so magical about the first Christmas they get to experience. So what do you buy a baby for their First Christmas? I have some wonderful ideas to share with you.
I am that sentimental Mummy who loves to keep a million and one keepsakes as a special memory of the festive period, I did it with my eldest Olly and I’ll do it again with Freddie. They’re just so lovely to look back on and Olly loves looking at them now so I’m sure Freddie will be the same in a few years time.
Christmas isn’t Christmas without all the wonderful decorations and so a Baby’s First Christmas bauble is a fantastic keepsake. This personalised bauble (£7.99) from Funky Pigeon uses a photograph of the baby (dressed in festive costume of course!) and is personalised with additional text. I love gifting these to Grandparents and Aunty and Uncles at Christmas as a little gift and they have always been very well received.
If you don’t want to use a photograph, this Me to You personalised bauble (£10.99) is from Find Me a Gift and features a beautiful festive bear with personalised text. I love this little bauble and it will appear on our family Christmas tree year after year.
If you’d like a keepsake for the tree to celebrate Baby’s First Christmas with the year on, this beautiful personalised wooden teddy First Christmas decoration keepsake is personalised with the baby’s name and the year of their first Christmas. Available from Love Unique Personal (£9.99) it’s a beautiful keepsake for any tree to remember such a special time for baby and parents.
Cosy up warm this winter with the Baby’s First Christmas Cushion (£19.99) from Funky Pigeon. It’s personalised with your favourite photograph and I love the idea that you can get this cushion out year after year along with the tree and the baubles and it becomes part of the annual family Christmas decorations. A wonderful keepsake for a new baby or a new set of Parents / Grandparents.
If you’re looking to buy baby their first pair of shoes this Christmas then this beautiful Print Stardom gift set (£32.00) from Inch Blue is ideal. It contains a soft cotton romper in a beautiful blue star print which matches a set of adorable soft and breathable leather shoes. The gift set can be ordered in sizes Small (0-6 months) or Medium (6-12m) and is presented in a gift box ideal for a keepsake.
If you love to give a gift that will be useful for a new baby and can be treasured for years to come, these classic personalised Teddy Bear cutlery set (£13.89) is a brilliant buy from Find Me A Gift. The 4-piece Stainless Steel set comes beautifully presented in a gift box and feature a little teddy bear with your choice of engraved name. My Son had a set of these when he was born and it makes me smile when he uses them at the dinner table five years on.
One of the traditions we started when our eldest was born was a Christmas Eve box. Now there are two little boys waking up on Christmas Eve in our house we couldn’t wait to get them a joint box to share goodies from. This beautiful Christmas Eve box is from Dust and Things (from £29.99) and is personalised with engraving on the top of the box. I cannot wait to fill the box with books, matching pjs and Christmas toys on Christmas Eve Eve for the boys, they are going to be so excited. I’m also really looking forward to the fact that we’ll be able to use the box year after year as it’s beautifully made, excellent quality and isn’t going to disintegrate in storage.
I love dressing a baby up for special occasions and therefore Christmas couldn’t pass without a Christmas outfit or three. Dribblekidz are my go to brand for personalised clothing and accessories so I was rather excited to see their personalised First Christmas dribble bibs (£5.00). It’s absolutely brilliantly personalised with Freddie’s name, I cannot wait for December to roll around to use it.
Dribblekidz have also made these fantastic muslins for Baby’s First Christmas this year. A Christmas Name muslin (£5.00) featuring the big guy himself and personalised with the desired name. The muslins wash really well and from experience, mop up any dribbles, sick up and still look fantastic.
They have also made these beautiful personalised name all over Christmas designed muslins (£15.00) which I think are brilliant. I bought a similar one from them before Freddie was born and when I saw they were doing a Christmas design I knew I had to get it. It’s a large muslin sized 70cm x 70cm so great for swaddling too!
Every child should be given a soft toy on their first Christmas and this large adorable personalised reindeer (£26.00) from Percy and Nell is so snuggly it is set to become a huge favourite. Personalised with the baby’s first name to read ‘Freddie’s First Christmas’ on the belly of the reindeer, it’s a lovely gift for a little one celebrating their first Christmas. I love the reindeers arms and legs, they’re super snuggly and I know for a fact that Freddie is going to absolutely love this little gift and cuddle him lots.
Christmas isn’t Christmas in our house without a stocking hanging by the fireplace and of course this year Freddie needs his very own Christmas stocking. This beautiful Christmas Stocking from Babyblooms (£30.00) is embroidered with the baby’s name and is such incredible quality. It’s a really luxurious product and is going to last throughout the years as being an essential part of your Christmas decorations and traditions. The Christmas Stockings are available in pink, blue and red and can be embroidered with the name of your choice (of up to 10 letters).
If you’re looking to buy a beautiful gift for a new baby this Christmas, head to Babyblooms. They create the most beautiful gift hampers. This gift hamper ‘My First Christmas Set’ (£30.00) contains an adorable first teddy with jumper that can be personalised and a luxurious fine bone china bauble with a Christmas tree on one side and the text ‘Baby’s First Christmas 2018’ on the other side. It’s a wonderful gift and comes complete with gift box and festive tissue wrap.
There we have it, a round up of some beautiful pieces for Baby’s First Christmas. Pieces that will undoubtedly be adored and treasured as the family celebrates their Baby’s First Christmas and will come out year after year as part of a new family tradition.
