With just over a month to go until we hop on board a jet plane to the hot Spanish sunshine, I thought it was about time to check out the local supermarkets for their latest summer fashion for little boys.

I love shopping in our local supermarkets for Olly’s clothes. Our favourite brands for kids clothing are F&F at Tesco, George at Asda and NUTMEG at Morrisons.

I’m not a huge fan of trawling clothes shops as I just don’t get the time to visit and much prefer to pick up a few pieces here and there with the weekly shop whenever we visit a store. The selection available in our local supermarkets is brilliant. There’s always something suitable and the price is great too with many items, such as short sleeved t-shirts starting at just £2.50. Brilliant, affordable value for an item of clothing that will be worn loads in the sunshine, get soaking well in the pool and will no doubt be covered in ice-cream within hours of wearing it.

As we’ll be spending a week in the sunshine, Olly needs a week’s worth of clothes to see him through; he needs bright, fun looking t-shirts and shorts for the day time, versatile shirts and smarter shorts for evening meals and the hotel disco!

Here’s some of the clothing we have bought and what Olly will be wearing this Summer..

NUTMEG clothing

There’s a great selection of vibrant colourful t-shirts in store this Summer.

Olly picked out this red slogan t-shirt to match his red baseball cap and to wear with his denim shorts. The surfboard t-shirt was another favourite of Olly’s and he can’t wait to have a paddle in the sea. I love this blue and yellow floral boys shirt. It’s got denim effect sleeves and looks really smart on Olly teamed with his sand coloured cotton shorts. He looks so grown up!

F&F at Tesco

F&F clothes

The summer clothing range for younger boys at F&F at Tesco is nautically inspired and we loved this smart collared navy blue and white striped t-shirt. Olly will be able to wear it out in the evening to the local bars and restaurants. The blue and white sketchy smart treasure map shirt is really quirky and both Olly and I really liked it.

George at Asda

George at Asda

There was a lot of choice in Asda all with slogans and summery beach designs. Olly picked out this ‘How to be a pirate’ t-shirt as he’s ‘into’ pirates at the moment and this blue dip die ‘surf the waves’ t-shirt was another favourite. Both t-shirts were very affordable, from just £2 and will be great for beach day adventures.

I think the clothes we’ve picked out for Olly all look brilliant. There’s a good mix of colours and styles and I think he’s going to really look the part on our holidays. Now if we could just pack the sunshine to bring back with us…

What a great selection and from places I just wouldn’t think would stock such great fashion. I love his little poses, little model in the making.

I love supermarket brands for kids clothes – wish there was a Morrisons near me that did clothing, though! Love the choices you’ve picked x

Jaxon has the Captain Awesome shirt too. It was bought as a present by his honorary grandma. My Mum’s best friend has kids about the same age as me but they have no interest in starting a family yet so Mum’s bestie has adopted Jaxon as honorary grandson for now. We love Nutmeg clothes – they wear so well.

I do a lot of shopping for both N and myself in the supermarkets. Although I have to say that recently I’ve not been that impressed for boys clothes now N’s in between the younger and older kids sizing. I’ve struggled to find suitable shorts for him (in the past all his chino shorts have been Sainsbury’s), but I’ve had to Primark it this year. All the other stores seem to be lots of denim/twill 80s style shorts.

Love the Nutmeg stuff but boo, doesn’t go up big enough

Love all the outfits here and you’ve given such a great overview of what’s in the shops right now. Superb that you included more than one store. Hope you get the sunshine. xxx

I'd love to hear from you
