Celebrating football with Barclays | #SpiritOfTheGame

There’s one sport in our family that everyone loves, football. Coming from a family full of West Bromwich Albion supporters, it was inevitable that many years ago, I was to meet a man who shared my enthusiasm for the game. And now our son at the tender age of just three years old, is beginning to show a passion for it too often accompanying his Daddy to the football on a Saturday afternoon proudly wearing their team’s shirt.

Olly sometimes wears an Albion shirt for playing football in the garden too!

Football has always been a part of my life and I’m pretty excited by the prospect of Olly growing up with it in his life too. Over the years, I’ve been a season ticket holder along with my Dad and my Grandad, and we have been to many games up and down the country supporting our team in the Barclays Premier League. We’ve laughed, we cried and we’ve made some incredible memories which I will always look back on with a smile.

Because of my young family’s obsession with football, I was really interested to find out that back in 2004, when Barclays became the title sponsor of the Premier League, they pledged with the Football Foundation (the largest sports charity in the UK) to provide grassroots sports and engage millions of young people through a variety of initiatives. These initiatives include Barclays Spaces for Sports and investment in employability programmes.

Mascots

With over fifteen successful years in the net, Barclays have championed a generation of football. They are celebrating by giving away some fantastic Barclays Premier League experiences which I know my football mad family would love. As well as tickets to some of the best matches of the season, you could also win the chance for your child to become a Mascot or bag a trophy visit to your child’s school.
