This is the first ever Summer holidays that I will have spent with my hubby. Whenever he has had the Summer holidays off work (he’s a Teacher) I’ve always been at work or had to take annual leave to spend any time with him. The most time we’ve spent together on holiday is 3 weeks back in 2011 when we went to Cyprus and then before that when we got married in 2007. So as you can imagine this is precious family time and I cannot wait.
We’re making plans to have a fantastic first Summer with Little Mr. Not only does Little Mr get a whole five and a half weeks with his Daddy but we’re cramming in lots of fun things to do so we can enjoy the time as a family of 3 plus Mikey our dog.
First up is a trip to London to watch the Athletics – Anniversary Games at the Olympic Stadium this evening. We’re taking Little Mr with us and although it will be a late night for him, it’s a one off and I’m sure he’ll take it in his stride as usual. We’re then making the most of being down south and off to visit Wembley Stadium. Hubby got a tour of the stadium as a Fathers Day gift so he can’t wait to have a look around whilst I reminisce of the Play Off final West Brom lost to Derby back in 2007 to secure their spot in the Premiership.
Next week we’re looking forward to watching Walsall FC train at their open training session. We’re hoping Little Mr will be able to meet Dean Holden and Andy Taylor who I met in hospital and asked them to pose for a photo with my scan picture.
Then we have the wedding of the year in Windsor. My oldest friend ever is getting married to the love of her life, I’m honoured to be one of her bridesmaids and will be signing the register for her as one of her witnesses. Little Mr has a very smart outfit to wear so he’s going to look adorable, naturally! It’s going to be a fab occasion and I’m really looking forward to it.
Into August, we’ve got our 6th wedding anniversary to celebrate, Little Mr and I will be meeting the lovely ladies and babies from our February birth group in Birmingham and we’re taking my parents caravan to Norfolk for a weeks holiday. Of course, there’s lots more pencilled in the diary including play dates with friends, swimming with hubby and Little Mr, days out with my nephew and another exciting wedding to attend in late August.
I may be poor being on maternity leave but we’re going to take advantage of the time we’ve got together and have lots of fun. Life is for living and having a great time with your loved ones and that’s exactly what we’re going to do!
Keep an eye out for lots of photographs and updates of our adventures, I’ll be blogging all about them over the Summer.
Have fun everyone and stay safe xx
