One of the strangest things about being a Mum is realising that the little people who once needed you for absolutely everything are slowly becoming their own people ❤️

At 8 and 13, my boys are fiercely independent, full of their own ideas, opinions and plans for life. They’re growing into really great young men who are finding their feet, making their own decisions and figuring out who they want to be. And honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of them 🥹

But there’s a little part of me that still remembers the tiny hands reaching for mine, the bedtime cuddles and being their whole world 💙

Motherhood changes as they get older. It’s less about holding their hands and more about knowing when to let go, when to step back and when to quietly remind them that I’m always here.

Because even when they think they know it all (and at 13, one of them definitely thinks he does 😂), they still need their Mum. Maybe not in the same way they did when they were little, but they need someone in their corner, cheering them on, picking them up when life gets tough and reminding them just how brilliant they are ✨

I might not always be the first person they turn to, and one day they might not need me quite as much as they do now 💔 But I’ll always be their Mum, their safe place and their biggest cheerleader 🙌🏻

Growing up is their job. Learning to let them is mine ❤️ And if they still occasionally want a cuddle, I’m absolutely taking it. No questions asked.

A cooler autumn day, sunshine peeking through the trees and nowhere in particular to be 🍂☀️🐾

Exploring new paths over Cannock Chase with my 8yo and the fluffy one, finding new routes and making the most of a day outdoors together.

Fresh air, muddy paws, little adventures and a chance to slow down and enjoy the moment..

Sometimes the best days are the ones without a plan, just seeing where the path takes you 🤎

Sometimes I just need to get outside, breathe in some fresh air and let nature quieten the noise in my head 🌿🍂🍁

After a busy week of work pressures, juggling home life and trying to keep all the plates spinning, it’s so easy to get caught up in thinking about everything I haven’t done, where I’ve fallen short and all the ways I feel like I’ve failed.

But a good walk, a bit of fresh air and a reminder that the world keeps turning can help put things back into perspective.

The trees aren’t rushing. The sky isn’t worrying about tomorrow. And maybe I don’t need to be so hard on myself either.

Sometimes, getting out of your own head is exactly what you need to remember that you’re doing better than you think 🤍🌳

A night cheering on the England Lionesses against Greece ⚽️🦁 The kind of experiences, moments and memories that remind you life is for living, not just getting through the to-do list.

Here’s to more spontaneous plans, more new experiences and more reasons to say YES ❤️✨

The older we get, the more I realise just how important it is to show up for your people ❤️

To celebrate the big birthdays, make the memories, dance like nobody’s watching, laugh until your face hurts and keep growing together through all the different chapters of life.

Life gets busy, everyone has their own stuff going on, but these are the moments that matter. The people who have been there through the highs, the lows and all the ridiculousness in between.

Here’s to good friends, shared memories and many more years of laughing together 🥂✨ Always make the effort. Always celebrate your people ❤️ Happy 40th Birthday @lucybishop2012 love you xx
