When we went to The Baby Show back in May, we were also invited to an exclusive preview of a brand new baby product. It was all very exciting as we were also able to meet the inventor of the new product, Tom Pellereau. For those who don’t know or can’t remember, Tom won The Apprentice back in 2011 securing a contract to work with Lord Alan Sugar.

Little Mr meets Inventor Tom

We were introduced to Tom and he’s such a lovely bloke. My Mom was rather taken with him! He showed us the products that he had invented previously and successfully launched; S-file; Emergency file and the S-Clipper. We were then introduced to the hottest baby gadget in town, the Nipper Clipper.

The Nipper Clipper is amazing! It takes all the drama out of cutting baby’s nails and as a new mum this is one of the jobs I hated doing. Little Mr is such a wriggler and also likes to clench his hands a lot so to try and cut his nails is an awful task. The nipper clipper is genius, it’s got a safety spy hole so you can actually see what you’re cutting resulting in a lot less stressful task for Mummy and perfectly cut nails for baby. It feels sturdy and is just the right size to hold for trimming tiny nails. I was able to cut Little Mr’s toe nails for the first time ever at the product sneaky peek as he was so calm. He just sat on my lap watching the tablet screen.

The Nipper Clipper comes all boxed up including a mini curved s-file (not pictured) to make sure there are no sharp nails once cut and there’s also a fantastic app featuring Timmy Tickle that users can download to their iPhones and iPads which distracts baby whilst you’re cutting their nails.

There are 3 options on the Timmy Tickle app dependant on the age of the baby and as Little Mr is only 4 months old we use the newborn mode which triggers the animations automatically. As you can see from the photos Little Mr is glued to the screen. It is so easy to use the nipper clipper whilst the app is running. It’s visually appealing and the music and vocal interaction is parent friendly (it’s not annoying!) We also use the app when we want to clean Little Mr’s ears as he lies perfectly still for me to be able to get a piece of cotton wool and wipe it round his ear lobes.

Cutting baby’s nails is no longer stressful and I’m sure once you get your hands on a Nipper Clipper you’ll never go back to baby scissors! The Nipper Clipper is available to buy from Sainsburys and Amazon as well as other retailers and is reasonably priced at £9.99.

Disclaimer: We met Tom at The Baby Show and was gifted a Nipper Clipper to try out. We were not asked to post this review.
