The long awaited Summer holidays are here and it’s the time when most families, ours included think about getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life for some rest and relaxation. Whether it’s by land, sea or air, it’s always an exciting time for the whole family unless you get travel sick like I do. But there’s help at hand with Sea-Band.
Sea-Band are bands that are worn on the wrist, they’re knitted and elasticated so comfortable to wear. They work by applying pressure on the Nei-Kuan acupressure point on your wrist as there’s a plastic stud on the band that cleverly applies pressure where you need it. Applying this pressure can help relieve the awful feeling of nausea and can help prevent vomiting. They are clinical proven to help relieve motion sickness and are really effective.
For best results, they are best worn on the Nei-Kuan point and can be found by placing your middle three fingers on the inside of your wrist with the edge of the third fingers on the wrist crease. The New-Kuan point is just under the edge of the index finger between the two central tendons.
We have been using Sea-Bands for a number of years (as well as during my pregnancy to try and ease morning all day long nausea and sickness) and we really like them because they don’t have any side effects. Many anti-nausea drugs can dampen the excitement of holidays and travelling but Sea-Bands help provide natural relief. There are adult and children version Sea-Bands available (RRP £7.99 with Amazon), they come in a handy travel case so you can keep them safe and clean in your handbag, and they’re washable too which is a bonus for us parents who know how grubby children can get just from travelling, I dread to think where they put their hands!
