Living Arrows 2015 – Week 46

Living Arrows – Week 46

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Khalil Gibran

As much as we love going out and exploring new places, it’s actually really lovely to just be at home pottering around with the housework and just enjoying what we work so hard for. This weekend Olly has been spending time with both of us and it has been just what we needed.

On Saturday, I went shopping with my Mom and my Sister for a few Christmas presents and Olly stayed at home for a boys day together with his Daddy. Naturally it involved a trip to McDonalds for lunch and a trip into the bookshop for a new story book.

On Sunday with the weather being particularly unsavoury and hubby sleeping off his very late night in Birmingham seeing one of his ultimate all time favourite DJ’s, we opted for a morning on the sofa watching Disney films. Olly doesn’t really sit still long enough for films as he’s a bit of a fidget but when I suggested that we put The Lion King film on as it had animals in it and he was really keen.

I had forgotten how sad the film is but this didn’t seem to phase Olly who enjoyed watching it, twice! I even caught him singing along to the music at one part which was very cute. I grew up on Disney films, I didn’t really have a favourite, I just loved them all. Olly loves Cars and Cars 2 and has watched Planes with a big grin on his face so over the next few months hopefully I’ll be able to introduce him to a few more of our favourite Disney films.

Overall, a really lovely lazy weekend Christmas shopping and catching up with a few life admin bits and pieces. The diary is beginning to get very busy with Christmas only 6 weeks away so I’m taking every opportunity to enjoy a slower pace of life whilst I can.

Aw it’s so lovely! We had one of those days today, Charlie just refused to go outside and napped for hours on end! I love the Lion King, but Charlie got VERY upset by it, and wouldn’t even see the show at Disney :( xx

I don’t think I’ve seen the Lion King. N’s not a Disney fan – the only thing he’s watched all the way through and loves is Jungle Book. The rest he’s not finished watching. Pixar he’s a bit better with – Toy Story, Despicable Me and Rio, but that’s about it
