Earlier in the month we shared an early Fathers Day gift that we had made with TruPrint to celebrate Fathers Day. Up until today, I have kept this little gift a secret as to surprise hubby with today. I really hope he’ll like it and I think he will.
Little Mr adores his Daddy and they have a wonderful relationship. His Daddy is very hands on and there’s nothing that he won’t do for his Son; cook him dinner, play silly games, change the really stinky nappies, bath him, read him a bedtime story, the list goes on.
To celebrate today, I’ve handmade a special photo collage of the two most important men in my life, Little Mr and his Daddy. Thanks to Truprint for their excellent quality photograph prints, I’ve been able to create a wonderful collage of the two of them displayed in a hand cut personalised aperture.
It took a very steady hand to cut out the text but I first traced the letters onto a piece of white card and then very carefully hand cut the letters out to leave an outline on the card to show the photographs through. I really love how it’s turned out. I think it’s brilliant and I’m definitely going to make some more of these to show off family photographs and make a treasured gift for a loved one.
Next year, I might even use the year in text form and pick four really good photographs to appear behind the text. I think 2016 would work really well as there’s quite a bit of space to show photographs through.
What do you think? Do you like it? I’m totally blowing my own trumpet but I think it’s fab!
I’d also like to wish my own Dad and Father-in-law a very Happy Fathers Day. You both do so much for us, we really appreciate your love, support and encouragement. We really are very lucky to have such wonderful Dads in our lives. We love you so very, very much!
If you’re celebrating Fathers Day today, Happy Fathers Day!
