Living Arrows – Week 14
This weekend has been just lovely. We drove down to London on Saturday morning to see our good friends who are expecting their first baby in just a few short weeks. It was so lovely to spend time with them just talking excitedly about their baby and I cannot wait to be Aunty again (we’re not related but she is just as close as my Sister to me.) Little Mr impressed them with his conversation skills and his cheeky smile. It was just lovely to spend time in their company catching up and talking about the future.
We went for a stroll after lunch and went to feed the local donkeys which of course, Little Mr thought was absolutely fantastic. I’m so surprised at how fearless he is of feeding animals. He just grabs the food and offers it straight to the animals and they take it, unsurprisingly, straight from his hands.
I absolutely love this photograph. I wanted to take a photograph of Little Mr feeding the donkeys, on mass, but the brown donkey looks like he’s having a word with me and wants to take the limelight. It’s hilarious! Excuse the quality, I forgot my ‘proper’ camera and took these snaps with my trusty iPhone.
After a yummy dinner out at Pizza Express and a several hours of catching up later, it was time for Little Mr to go to sleep. Hubby had gone out with his friend to Brixton Academy to dance his socks off to his favourite dance DJ’s, Above and Beyond until the early hours so Little Mr and I shared a cuddle and then he fell asleep.
I was really pleased with how quickly he fell asleep. Bedtimes for us at home take at least a couple of hours but in a different environment, he coped really well. It was the first time he had slept in a single bed so I had prepared a crash landing space next to the bed, with extra pillows and cushions, just in case he rolled over and fell out but he didn’t.
How adorable does he look cuddling his Little Ted as he’s fast asleep. He was such a good boy for me and as I snuggled up close to him I felt like the luckiest Mama in the world. He can be such a handful sometimes when he’s tired or in a mischievous mood but to watch him sleep (and listen to him snore!) was a wonderful moment.
For the record, he woke up in the middle of the night for a drink of water and fell back to sleep until 8am. He didn’t even wake up when his Daddy came back at 4am, what a star!
